hgrca Posted August 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Wee have previously sailed on Marina and Riviera and had a great time. However, this year we cruised on Crystal and really enjoyed the socializing and options to dance or just listen to music after dinner. We didn't find a lot in this regard on Oceania. Has this changed at all?
CintiPam Posted August 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) IMO, no. Dancing options seem to require a visit to Horizons at or after 10:30 PM. Perhaps I am missing dancing options before the lounge show because I am a very slow (but steady) diner? corpkid Posted August 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Best bets are Horizons after 10:30pm, and especially where the next day is a sea day. It's really hit or miss, but in general, the folks on the ship go to sleep pretty soon after dinner. The casino is also hit or miss. Tends to be busy at around 10pm and can go till pretty late if the vibe is good (no dancing besides the occasional "happy dance", though). :)
Grandma Gilly Posted August 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2014 I am on Riviera at the moment. There is a live band in Horizons but they are so awful it is impossible to dance to them! It's a shame because the night life is certainly lacking.
hypercafe Posted August 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2014 From my experience in march, there is not much. Crystal has more. Sent from my XT1032 using Forums mobile app

YoHoHo Posted August 13, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Perhaps with increased purchase of the Prestige Beverage Package, Horizons at night will be busier. I know we did our best :)
canuck.qc Posted August 13, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 13, 2014 No real nitelife except- our last cruise there was a band called Siglo who played in Horizons after 10ish and they were fantastic, even then there were maybe 20-30pers. on the dance floor. No one goes on an O cruise for the after dinner entertainment.

Siglo used to neon the Paul Gauguin and I agree they are fabulous If they were on one of my cruises I would be motivated to stay up and dance. I know we did our best :) We'll do our best on the Insignia in Sept. We don't need 'nightlife' per se. But music with a little dancing would be nice. I'm not much for the production shows. RJB Posted August 14, 2014 #15 Share Posted August 14, 2014 No nightlife on O. But most of the cruises are so port intensive that we need to be up early and find it hard to stay up very late. :)
Rare pinotlover Posted August 14, 2014 #16 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Not for dancing, but Martinis can get really lively on some nights. Lots of great lively conversation with new friends, while being greased from the bar! ;) Some times the folks migrate to the casino, other nights people just hang out there and chatter. Not everyone on the ship goes to bed at 10!
