Flob1954 Posted September 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2014 Does anyone know if its cheaper to get gas on your own in cocoa or select the gas option when returning a car to budget in cocoa beach ? Thanks Bill
Clarea Posted September 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) I've always found it cheaper to get gas on my own. There is also a good selection of gas stations in Cocoa Beach, so it should not be inconvenient to stop for gas. JohninDC Posted September 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2014 The gas option means you pay for the full tank - if you return the car 1/2 full you're still paying for a full tank. :(

Rare John&LaLa Posted September 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2014 The other 1/2 tank is a "gift" to the rental company (at your expense). Some rentals have a $13.50 charge if you drive less than 75 miles. That should cover drive from airport and travel around cocoa Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
Twickenham Posted September 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2014 Does anyone know if its cheaper to get gas on your own in cocoa or select the gas option when returning a car to budget in cocoa beach ?Thanks Bill The ONE absolute certainty of a car rental is that it will ALWAYS be cheaper for you to get your own gas rather than selecting the gas option thru the rental company. Langley Cruisers Posted September 3, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 3, 2014 And get a receipt from the gas station, and show them you filled the tank :)
Rare Hlitner Posted September 3, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 3, 2014 Agree with one of the other comments . Rule #1 on any rental car is fill the tank before you return the car and take that option. Hank
