Board get through SS card activation(the systems acts up all the time because of me and my dads first name) then cabin FTTF (two more before I don't have to do this anymore) then soda card, FOOD, virgin piña colada, then my traditional picture to post to the social networks, it used to be club 02 but the next one will be casino, then unpack, moment of I'm on a freaking boat, mustard, then sail-away then dinner.

What is the purpose of having the SS cards punched?

To clarify what others said, you can then attach it to a lanyard using a split ring. Then you don't have to fuss with it taking it out of a plastic holder every time you need it. Well worth the 28 seconds of effort.

Funny last month on the Magic, we made our way down to the casino cage. Nobody was there. My son spotted the punch among some other times and reached across and grabbed it. By the time we were done punching our four cards, there were probably 10-12 waiting in line to use the punch. Guest services will also punch them for you.

Finally got FTTF (it was sold out, so I checked every day and BOOM! Got it!!) so I will drop off the bags, set the boys free to explore the ship and buy the Cheers program and head to the Blue Iguana for tacos and a margarita! Or maybe hang out in the Atrium bar so I can watch everyone's face as they walk in. I am basically going to be solo (sailing with two teenage boys means hanging out by myself A LOT) so I will figure out the best place to hang out during the day (definitely poolside) and get ready to RELAX!! Luckily the boys are sweet and will keep checking on me and we plan on dining together ever night. I will just get to read books, lay in the sun and enjoy some adult beverages. :D

Drop off any bags we have with us, Guy's for a burger , Serenity and a quick scan of funtimes (not really much day one, but it's my habit), Tour of Spa,

Get to know my way around the ship, Meet my Cabin Steward, Unpack (if bags there), Treadmill, Steam and Shower, Vacation officially starts.

What do you like to do as soon as you board your Carnival ship? Tell me about the first couple of hours. :D

My stress just melts away, no more worries about flights, missing paperwork, or anything else. It's all good. So then we go get food and then check out our rooms. This cruise we are meeting up with my brother and his family so finding them will be a priority. I'm sure my daughter will be doing her last phone call to the BF left at home. :D

This will be our first time with FTTF so our plan right now is to go straight to the red frog pub to see if we are the first ones there for a free drink. Then go by the cabin and check it out and if luggage is there, unpack and get all settled in and go find lunch. After lunch, head to the MDR to check out our seating assignment and request a new one if we need to. Then explore the ship until time for Muster, then grab my first funship special and head to the balcony for sail away and relax knowing we are FINALLY after having booked a year in advance, planned, dreamed, FINALLY on vacation!!!

With FTTF, drop off our backpacks in the room, grab pool towels, and immediately hit the pool (we board dressed and ready for the pool). As soon as we can, flag down a waiter for a cold drink or two.

Didn't say it was wrong, ... but you could stay home and do that for a whole lot less.

You'd also be missing out on the cruise itself, no?

It also sounds like loads of fun for whoever is traveling with you, unless that's their game plan too.

I actually think you're playing with us. ;)

With FTTF we like to get to our room right away and unpack quickly, before heading up to lido for some food and a delicious adult beverage...we find a spot with a good view and relax while we sail away. We also like to look at the fun times and see what all is going on.

This thread is fun to read. This will be our first time with FTTF . In the past, we struggled with the carry ons; luggage, including my husband's C Pap machine, his rolling walker/seat, my purse, extra media bag with cameras, ereaders, meds, odds and ends etc. while trying to find a seat on Lido deck to get some lunch.

Hallelujah ! this time will be different. In addition to FTTF, this will be our first time with a Lido Deck cabin. I think we just hit the jackpot.

We will drop of all the stuff, head for food and our favorite lemonade. Guy's will be the food of choice along with a salad from the salad bar. The first drink of a Chocolate Mocha Getaway will wait until sailaway. If there is a Roll Call gathering, we do that as well. I can't wait !

This time I want to take some pictures of the ship, especially the Dr. Seuss areas because I bet once kids are inside, you don't have photo access. Those areas look like so much fun. (I am an old retired K, and primary age teacher who always LOVED Dr. Seuss.) So exploring the ship will also be on my what to do first agenda.
