Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

The last two times I have cruised, it's been on the card when I received it. Before that, the host put it on at the casino. I would also assume it is in the data base when they scan your card.

OK great thanks! Yes they put a sticker on my card this last cruise and i booked this next one through Casino Royale but did not know how anyone would know this. that's good it will be on the card when i receive it. Thanks again for the info.

What did the sticker say, that the concierge put on your card on your last cruise?

There will be nothing on your card when you receive it at check in, this will be attached to your card by the casino host. That has been our experience the past 15 years.

All members are in the CR database and at the cage they know by facial recognition who you are.

For us who book through CR, they obviously know what sailings we are on, they inform the CR hosts and Managers of their future cash cows:D

Varies casino by casino some find us, sometimes we find them, either way establish communication as early as possible:)

Happy Days!

The sticker said CR VIP. I don't know how they would know me by facial recognition since no one has ever taken my picture for CR. I am really not one to walk up and introduce myself to the host- it seems somewhat pretentious. I am not a high roller by any stretch.

Just chiming in here to say that this entire thread is just amazing. I've got many years to work, and I can only manage one cruise per year, although I have managed to reach Diamond status. But just the sheer amount of cruising some of you do gives me something to look forward to when I retire. The gambling I'll never be able to do -- I beat myself up if I lose $500 for 7 nights! But I did win $750 on the slots before on the Allure.

Happy sailing to you. I live vicariously through you all!

Off to work I go!

When you board the ship your photo is taken

That in turn is in the database, in the database they know you are CR VIP

link it together, they know who you are:D

And I am only 44:eek:

We still have a child in school, that is our limitation on how much we can currently cruise, but in 4 years time, what bliss that will be

You don't have to be retired;)

Forget it being pretentious, if you don't introduce yourself, how are you going to get the sticker on your card like you did on your previous cruise.

Did the host approach you last time and invite you to join CR VIP, as 1st time I can understand them finding you.

Honestly they do not bite, and they have a list of all the members on that particular sailing.:)

When you book through Club Royale, they usually put your name on the ships database in the casino letting the host know you will be onboard. On the first day, you should go see the host and they will put the sticker on your card for the "no 5%" cash advance fee purposes. They may also give you a drink card good for 5 drinks. Refillable if you're playing. Some ships, they will either use that same sticker or add another sticker for free drinks.

Only on the casino tournament cruises will your SeaPass card already have a casino VIP sticker on it at checkin

If for some reason you didn't book thru CR send them an Email before your sailing. That way Host knows you be there and how u r rated.Saves time they have to contact CR in Miami to know your a member.

Now that your a member and program seems to be going to Comp and Discount

Cruises You should always book thru CR.

Do you know any way to contact the casino host on a particular ship before you cruise? I know the e-mail addresses to contact the concierge or the diamond lounge concierge, but never came across an e-mail for the casino host's.

Even when you call CR head office, they do not know which hosts are on which ships:eek:

I think it is more they do not want to give the information out, I understand that.

On some ships we have contact information for the hosts, but that has been given to us as relationships have been established.

Out of courtesy to them, I would not publish on a forum:)

You can try the generic email: CasinoRoyale@rccl.com

Anyone got any news on the NEW program?

Apparently, being a squeaky wheel helped. The gentleman with whom I spoke at Club Royale was able to get hold of the casino host onboard and get my play information. I now have my rebate amount that I can apply toward my next cruise as a cruise discount. (I think the amount I'm getting is more than my balance due, so I think they'll give the rest to me as onboard credit. We'll see.)

Interesting timing! I just heard back from the folks at Blue Chip Club. Apparently all my play (again, read: LOSSES) on the Equinox last month has earned me my largest cash rebate to date: $3,000 -- that should be a nice starting point on our Solstice sailing this August. Perhaps their program has changed, or they just did a better job of tracking my play - as the largest rebate I've received previously from them was about 1/10 of that! Guess that's what ten (LONG) nights of "persistence" will get 'cha!

I have the info at home, currently on Anthem , I will try to get it within the next few days for you.

I do know some people on the Casino thread have an email for Casino Host.

Graham, if you are reading this, can you post the CR thread for this poster, so they can ask over there, thanks 😀

Sorry if i am acting dense, but i am new to CR. What reason would one need to email the casino host ahead of the sailing? Thanks

One reason is if someone is organizing a Slot pull for a Roll Call and they need to set up a time convient for the Casino Host. For some CR members, numerous reasons and I will leave it at that. Since you are new to the club, no reason to email Casino Host.

I was almost as persistent as you on my 10 night cruise a few weeks ago but NO rebates anymore! Just a stinking free cruise in an Oceanview cabin!

I talked to CR today and NO NEWS. Josh with CR said they're in the dark just as much as everyone is. I also told him the way the program is at this moment, there is no incentive to play, especially for the ones that really can't use another free cruise cert. They better come up with something quick lol

Linda, what are you on Anthem for a whole month?!? Wow..that must be nice. Tell Shirley I said high. She should remember me from the Enchantment!

Wow! That's a lot of work!

How does their Blue Chip Club Work?

Basically play enough, and they'll invite you. That's what happened to me. Significant green chip, or steady black chip action should do the trick. I think we've only taken a couple Blue Chip cruises (free cabin), but since then they've pared back the offerings to discounted cabins with the occasional free cabin - often with too little notice for us.

We're splurging for a penthouse on our next Celebrity sailing, so the flat 20% fare discount I've been enjoying will save us about $3,000. So getting an actual rebate in that same amount will be a treat!

I should probably just take the cash and walk away! ;)

Hi Nick, yes on for 34 nights and it is very nice :)

I did tell Shirley you said hello last sailing and she also said to tell you hello too.

I'm also feeling like you Nick, not spending much time in the casino, lots of other entertainment and shows on Anthem to keep us busy at night. There's very little incentive to continue gambling once you reach the magic # of points for a free cruise for slot play. As you know, table play is a little different than slot play regarding free cruise.

Much luck to you in the casino on your next sailing :)

(I think the amount I'm getting is more than my balance due, so I think they'll give the rest to me as onboard credit. We'll see.)

Well, it turned out a bit more interesting. They did apply credits up to the full amount of the fares (less fees and taxes, of course), so instead of getting onboard credit, I'm actually getting a refund of the overage from my deposit back to my credit card.

I'm glad I persevered, and I'm quite happy to have been fortunate enough to have sailed when there was this one last chance at a rebate.

Now, if they'd just roll out this new program...
