Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

I'm not a gambler, but I'm really enjoying reading this thread. One basic question though: what is a point? Is it a $1 bet? I wouldn't think it would be $1 in losses, because I'm sure the casino does not want you to keep track of how much you may be in the hole.

One point is earned for every $5 that goes through a slot machine, win or lose. I believe it's one point for every $10 in video poker machines.

I don't know how they figure points for table games.

Hi Linda - Paul and I are taking advantage of an offer from Club Royale and we are going on the Anthem August 20 (2016). 5 days Bermuda - we've never been to Bermuda so we are excited about a new island! Paul wants to go back on the Anthem. (I have never done a cruise less than 7 days...) I think you are on the Anthem often. Will you be on when we are on? (We have received many nice offers but because of family events and other things already on our calendars we haven't been able to take advantage of everything offered.

Hi Cheryl

Nice too hear from you, also been receiving many offers from CR.

Currently our next sailing on Anthem is a B2B on Oct 15 & Oct 20 2016, with many other Anthem sailings next year and in 2018. We may have cruise withdrawal from now until October and book another Anthem sailing before October, but most likely will not be a 5 Nighter, just too short of a cruise.

You and Paul will just love Bermuda, everyone that goes there does and maybe, if your schedule is not too busy, you guys can join us on the 5 Nighter to Bermuda on October 15. It's a CR Golf event and Andy will be singing again in the casino. Don't know if you guys play Golf or not but CR does an outstanding job on this event, the Golf Course in Bermuda is at Port Royal which is a PGA course. Our handicap is high as we a lesson or two---lol, you don't have to be a Golfer to play in this tournament, it's lots of fun. If you can make it, you can do a B2B like us :)

Love to hear about your S.A. cruise when we meet up again.

All the best to you guys and hope to see you soon.

Thank you, Linda. You were right. You can play til the casino closes. We got close to 3600 and the casino host was nice enough to print us a certificate for an OV cabin.

We actually had 500 points less than we thought before last night because of the bonus points, so we had more ground to make up than we thought. I think it was Pompey who talked about the bonus points previously. I'm sure a lot of people get fooled by the bonus points and think they have more actual points than they do.

My pleasure.

Happy to hear they gave you an OV. Yes it was Pompey (Graham) who mentioned about the Mickey Mouse points which he calls them for the (double points). Take half of those MM points and add them to your actual points.

This is a silly question...but does anyone know if they ever extend the certificate. It says good for 30 days but is there ever any leeway in that?

My sister won't know till next month if she can come or not

That's good to know if I'm ever in that situation.

Thanks Marc :)

Edit---don't know how that red thumb appeared in post .

I see you are Anthem. Could you tell me the name of the host on Anthem? I realize it MAY change by our sail the beginning of June but thought you may know. Last host on Liberty was of no help whatsoever and was leaving so glad I will be seeing a new host. Loved the host on Quantum last year - Helen. She was amazing!

Thanks,

Swiss

Shirley is the Casino Host on Anthem and will be there in June, she's very nice.

I remember Helen from England very well on Quantum and met her on Explorer many years ago, a real sweetheart.

Much luck in the casino:)

Do the double points not count towards your total points in order to get a cruise certificate? Could somebody please explain, and thanks as usual :)

No, promo points such as double points do not count towards the cruise certificate.

Here is an email I received when I inquired about the new program:

Although the rebate program has now been phased out and guests are no longer able to earn them, we still have ways to reward you for your loyalty to Club Royale. For the interim between now and when our new player program is unveiled, we have introduced exclusive promotions and further expanded our options for where you can earn other rewards instead, such as the possibility of future cruise comps and deep cruise fare discounts - just as our members have come to know and love through the years. These offers will be based upon your onboard play, similar to the current program. Shipboard casino points may still be earned and redeemed for prizes, such as gifts from the cashier’s cage, etc. You will also certainly still have the 5% convenience fee waived for any monies you advance from your SeaPass card at the casino cashier's desk.

We continue to review the details of our new player program to ensure we are rewarding our valued casino guest appropriately and to ensure that our offers continue to be beneficial to them. While we do not yet have the specifics of the upcoming and highly anticipated new program, we expect to be able to share those details with you soon. Please contact us via telephone so that we may customize an offer based on your play history.

If you have any questions or if we can assist you with a reservation, please feel free to contact us at 1-888-561-2234. We are available 8:00am to 10:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday; and 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Eastern Time on weekends. You can also reach us by email at ClubRoyale@rccl.com.

Hi Linda - doesn't look like we will be seeing you anytime soon.

Would like to hear Andy again - what a talent!

Won't be able to join you in October - we'll be on the Explorer - 24 nights - Seattle to Sydney. We've had that trip booked since the day it was released - when we were on the Quantum in 2015.

South America - We had some weather issues on the Rhapsody going 'around the horn" which keep us from really going all the way down around the bottom of the horn - and some weather related change of port issues. But it was an amazing experience - gorgeous scenery! And some of the days were great weather! We spent time in Santiago before the cruise and after (on our own) in Buenos Aires and then up to Iguazu Falls (the Brazil side) and stayed there at the Belmond in the park. We did lots of "bucket list items" on that trip. We heard Royal is no longer going to be cruising to South America. There are other cruise lines going, including Celebrity.

You are fortunate you live near Bayonne so you don't need to add in airfare to your trips on Anthem. Less on airfare - more to play with in the Casino. HaHa...

He's on Anthem again :) October 15 2016, Bermuda 5 nights, our sailing :D As of now, he has no other dates scheduled on RCI for 2016 or 2017 yet and has quite a few 2016 sailings booked with NCL. I'm sure he'll be back again for CR's Golf events next year on Anthem and hoping one of those dates is their 4/29/17 sailing, 7 Nights Bermuda and Boston, again, which we booked.

Andy did say they may have him perform in Boleros instead of the casino next time. If I find out any info on additional dates from him, I'll post it here.

I have a question (if I may) because we seem to have some RCCL casino experts on this thread.

I am just off of Oasis and was lucky enough to have won The VIP Slot Tournament last week. I did not receive a W2-G tax form. Will I receive one in the mail? They didn't give me one when I won and I assumed I would receive it on the last night but never got it. Any help would be appreciated.

It usually depends on the amount won. On Royal Caribbean, I've hit $2,500 on a UTH royal and won a Poker tournament for a $1,200 payout and never been given a 1099. But a $600 win on the Big M Casino (Myrtle Beach, SC) gets you a 1099, and wins in Vegas normally give you 1099s at $1,200 from a single jackpot. So without knowing how much you won and what RCL's cutoff is, it's hard to say if you should have been given one.

You will only receive a W2g if whilst on your cruise you actually won an individual jackpot above $1199.99

Cumulative amounts above $1199.99 do not factor in.

Table chip cash ups also do not factor in.

Now if you won the Slot tourney I am sure 1st prize would of been in range of $10k or split between 1st, 2nd & 3rd

Well above the $1199.99

You should of gotten a W2g

We got x2 W2g's from our last cruise, both jackpots were above $1199.99 :)

Happy Days!
