RC Alcohol Policy

Recommended Posts

What is RC's position on consumption of alcohol off the ship in a port where the age is 18+? Obviously one under 21 could go to the port and drink without RC ever finding out but I'm just curious about their official policy regarding this. The wording of the alcohol policy in the Guest Conduct contract is a little vague regarding off ship drinking.

If you have to be carried back to the ship, they may not let you back on. :D

Was going to say something similar. If you are too intoxicated to make it back onboard they may have something to say about it.

Otherwise, as long as you can see over the bar, most ports will serve you.

The only exception is for cruise sponsored excursions. Ship rules apply.

This is actually quite true. I know someone who witnessed some underage drunks being practically carried back to the ship, and the ship's staff at the gangway GRILLED them.

The cruise line has no authority of what you do on shore .

If you are drunk and commit a crime on shore and board the ship . The local authorities can take you off the ship.

Also note that Rccl is not an American Ship and the ports

Except for U.S. Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico , are considered Foeiegn Countries.

If you board in the UK where the drinking age is 18 you are allowed, not sure if we had to give permission for our Son, but he was allowed at 18 and that was using his own card, yes he did get a lecture first :D.
