best suite location on Caribbean Princess

We are booked on the Caribbean Princess in a window suite and I have just read that those suites are directly under the promenade. One cabin reviewer commented that people were even running on the promenade at night. when I called Princess I was told "Yes , that deck is both for walking and jogging". ?????

A check on reviews of the aft suites revealed that the stern vibrations and noise from the vent were very obvious. Moving on to the penthouse suites on deck 14 brought many complaints about being directly under the Lido deck .

Are the above complaints true? We just got off another ship where we discovered our suite was directly under the jogging path so now we are quite sensitive to cabin placement. Location wise we felt the window suites on the Vista deck were perfect particularly since a balcony is not imperative for us. However, we do not want to again experience heavy running and/or footsteps over our heads all night!

The WS's were added as an after thought a few years ago.

I have seen reviews with all the things you mentioned as well as some that love them. Good that you are asking. Best to do your homework so you won't be surprised.

We were in F311 on the CB and there wasn't any noise from above that I can recall. Maybe there was during the day when we weren't in the cabin, but we were never bothered by noise from the promenade above. However, there was quite a bit of noise from the waves on a couple of nights. The sea was a little rough which caused a bit of groaning and creaking. In spite of this we loved the cabin and its location.

We just got off the Caribbean a couple of weeks ago and had E732 Aft Suite. This was our favorite cabin ever. I didn't think there was much vibration at all. The balcony was quite big. We've had a penthouse suite on the Star but I like the Aft suite much better.

thanks for the above postings. all things being equal I guess we will stay put in our window suite. The cruise is a northern European one and thus pretty port intensive and perhaps even too cool to invite lots of strollers /runners.

I am also hoping that the Princess rep was wrong about the jogging path being the same as the walking area...On most ships they are in different locations to avoid accidents.

The rep was not wrong, there is running and walking on the promenade deck.

Have seen it on most cruises we have been on.

Hi Puli, we are also booked in two window suites, on the CB next July. I debated about them over two balcony cabins and in the end decided that the space inside the suite far outweighed having a balcony for us. Also the suite perks make it even better. I too wonder about the promenade deck being above, but unless there are joggers at 6am I doubt it will bother us. I would think you might hear heavy footsteps, and I am a light sleeper, but I'm hoping it's not an issue. Most of the reviews I have read of the window suites are positive. The only other negative I have read about is smelling cigar smoke from the cigar bar up the hall, but there are hallway doors that close off the window suites so that also should not be a problem.

We spent 2 weeks in window suite 307 last September. There was no noise from above and we found the location very convenient. But doors out of the very privatre hallway were hard for me to open Especially the center doors.

Since you are on a lowwer deck the ocean is closer. We had calm seas in the Caribbean. The Atlantic can be rougher.

We will be sailing this May R/T Southampton...I will try to remember to post here when we return. We have decided to stick with the window suite...can't beat the price and the remaining suites are not so enticing.

There are three ships with Window Suites (Grand, Golden, Caribbean). I am very partial to Window Suites (Golden and upcoming cruise on Grand). You say that the Window Suites are on the Vista Deck (?). Is that just below the Promenade Deck? Not familiar with this ship. I would not hesitate to book any Window Suite for the price point near to a Mini-Suite. I prefer larger numbered Cabins (F311). I never really heard any noise from the Promenade above on the Golden. Never had smoke smell from the Cigar Lounge either. Are the WS in a different location on the Caribbean?

sorry my labeling mistake...the deck IS the Fiesta deck, one deck below the Promenade...we will be in F303..so perhaps 311 is a better location being a little more central but it will still be directly under the Promenade.

We had A 751 on the CB last year and loved the suite. It is an aft suite with a huge (about 12 X 18) balcony. We had no noise from above, no vibrations up there and it was very convenient to the back dining room and to the aft pool.

Chloe45: so glad you posted E732 was a favorite for you. I booked E732 for an upcoming sailing. First time in a suite for us, so I'm super excited. Was the table on the balcony large to enjoy meals on the balcony?

We were in F311 on the CB. No issues at all. Heard nothing from above. Being in F303 I would make sure that the doors to go outside the hallway near your room are closed so you don't get smoke from the cigar bar.

thanks for the suggestion ..our only choices were 303 and 301...I read that 301 is much smaller and even closer to the smoke and bathrooms...am hoping prior to final payment that a higher number window suite becomes available so we can switch.

Keep watching as you never know. I don't think you can go wrong with your current cabin, though. Our first cruise on Princess on the Golden the door to the hallway near the cigar bar was always open. Some smoke in the hall down that end but not too much. I have read that people don't smell it in the cabin. Our cruise on the CB that door was always shut. Both those cruises we were in f311. My upcoming cruise on the Grand we are in F307 as 311 and 309 were already taken. On the Grand it is the casino that is nearby. I will be sure to make sure the door on that end is always closed!

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, 303 is better than 301 and any Window Suite is better than none. Given that premise, enjoy your cruise. Keep an eye open for another cabin number, but you will be just fine.

I've attached a floor plan created by another poster who often chimes in to get his due credit. (Sorry....for forgetting his name).

Are you going to be a neighbor of mine in February?

Yes, you, Ben, and I will be taking up a good portion of the Window Suites. See you at Sabatini's (and maybe before).

If you are in 311… want to swap?:D:D Since I booked last May I have been looking to see if that one opened up. Sadly no but if you are in it then I guess that is good as it will be nice to meet you!

I never publicize my cabin number. Unfortunately, I have been an avid promoter for Window Suites and feel personally responsible for its rise in popularity that have limited their availability. Really wish Princess would add them to every ship. Thought they would have done it on the Coral Princess when they added cabins and made the casino smaller.

Looking forward to meeting you too. I've met some wonderful people from this hallway.

  • 5 weeks later...

We just got off the Grand Princess. We were in a beautiful Window Suite 311, however, the heavy jogging overhead went on until 1am and started up as early as 5 am. It is really not the joggers fault as they are unaware of suites below. The management should cordon off the area between midnight and at least 7 am with a yellow tape to allow guests in the Windoe Suites to get at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. We used both noise canceling earphones and ear plugs but after 9 days we feel sleep deprived. We also have a trip in a Window Suite on the Caribbean Princess for 28 days and are very concerned.

The exercise equipment in the gym that is positioned over staterooms are kept locked until 9 am as a courtesy to those guests below. I don't understand why the window suites aren't given the same courtesy from the same type of noise.
