What a terrible way to end your cruise. I hope everything turns out well for them. On another note, did anyone else think that towdriver was crazy? I thought for sure he was going to run that one guy over. I literally sucked in my breath watching that.

 

No kidding. I drove a forklift for many years working a a Target distribution center, after a few days of driving, it is very easy and you can do it without thinking.

 

Maybe he is not used to this situation, or is new?

 

When I was on the Disney Wonder in Ketchikan, they had a giant gangway, that guy put it right in place on the first try. He does it everyday many times a day, I wonder what this guys issue was.

I'm sure someone from the ship is with the family and they're waiting for him/her to get back. I don't think that they would just dump them off at the pier and just leave.

Does anyone know if the pilot was onboard when this happened or did he have to return to the ship for the reentry?

It's against the rules, but frequently allowed. Be prepared to have it held until the end of the cruise.
