PoohUnderstands Posted March 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Noticed on a thread that the Royal uses cruise card to pay for doing laundry for the washers and dryers. Anyone just off the Star Princess, please. Do I need to bring quarters, or does the Star use one's cruise card also? Thanks for the input! sportsmum Posted March 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Star has the machine where you swipe the card for a token that is good for washer or dryer. You can buy your detergent that way too but we brought our own pods.

satxdiver Posted March 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2015 We sailed on the Star last fall and it did not have that feature. It must have been installed at dry dock in December.

Yes, we sailed Star in November which is why I was surprised to find that the laundry had been updated with the token machines.

anthonyy7 Posted March 12, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 12, 2015 I was on the Regal in Sept/Oct and a load was $1.50 at the beginning of the cruise and $3 near the end. Soap increased as well. It's best to check on day 1 and buy your tokens/soap at that time.

Off to Panama in October and would like to know if I need to take coins or not Thank you :) From what I remember seeing is that the machine dispenses tokens but requires money to inserted as compared to the Royal that can be charged to your cruise card to get the tokens. They'll probably convert the token dispensers after dry-dock.
Husky61 Posted March 14, 2015 #18 Share Posted March 14, 2015 We have our dry cleaning done thru Princess, but I still like to do my own laundry.:) I shudder to think about the response I would get from my spouse if I asked her to do laundry while on a cruise.

martylouie Posted March 14, 2015 #21 Share Posted March 14, 2015 Does anyone know about the coral? Card or quarters? Thanks. Coral is card for tokens. Just off the 2/27 Panama Canal partial transit. We were on Caribe deck, put the laundry in, and sat out on the Deck 10 rear deck while it washed.
pklein9747 Posted March 14, 2015 #22 Share Posted March 14, 2015 Since the Grand is an older ship, I'm thinking it still has machines that take coins? Anyone know?

Wehwalt Posted March 15, 2015 #24 Share Posted March 15, 2015 Coral is card for tokens. Just off the 2/27 Panama Canal partial transit. We were on Caribe deck, put the laundry in, and sat out on the Deck 10 rear deck while it washed. Are these the quarter-equivalent tokens used in the "penny falls" machines in the Casino, or the single tokens used for example on the Royal? Just interested as I have five or six different of the quarter-size and also have a silver dollar size one that is no longer used and that I bought from a dealer at a coin show for $2.
