What if those folks came back to their cabin and saw you reading their mail. I'd be so embarrassed. :o :eek:

 

It never occurred to me that someone might be reading invitations, notes etc that may be placed in a guests' mailbox.

 

In any case, it was interesting information.

 

 

 

 

Sorry for not being clear Sail. Their door is right across the hall from mine. I was coming out of our cabin and their mail holder is at my face level. A full page of text caught my eye. It was not folded nor was it in an envelope. I knew they had not been to muster drill as the cabin number had been called 3 times.

 

I did not touch the mail. Just read what I could as i came out of my cabin. I did not stop and read it so if someone saw me they would have seen a woman come out of a cabin and fumble with the strap of her cane to get it in her hand.

 

For the record, I am very uncomfortable with this system as anyone can take anything. Specifically having FCC delivered to the outside of my cabin where anyone can take them. Our cabin stewards always put our mail inside where 90% goes in the paper recycling.

It's not like anyone needs to take the notice out of the mail slot! These letters are just left loose for all to see. I'm sure that's why 1of4 only read the first paragraph - she's just not the sort to consider touching anyone else's mail. It doesn't take a super sleuth to glance at the papers in somebody's slot.

Hoping you will have smoother sailing and get to see some great coastline. More fun and good times to be had. Thanks for posting your comments and loved hearing about your children too! Were they able to keep active on sea days and how was the children's program?

Hey you guys don't pick on us seasoned coastal cruisers. I think were up to around 15 but usually attached to a 7 days on one end or the other. Actually the bartenders love these short cruises, the passengers spend more money drinking and tipping then those that are on longer cruises.

Thanks for the information. I've only sailed on Princess from San Francisco to Seattle and return and we saw coastline for portions of that trip.

I wish they would go back to way things were done years ago - everything was slide under the door into your cabin.

Thank you. DD and DS love club HAL and The Loft. No program or activity has been repeated. Today, for example, activities include: Art folders, Squirting, Apples to Apples, what's yours like, Pac man tag, Dodge ball domination, Flags and cheers, eye cue test, just to mention a few!

 

Obnoxious has many of the daily activities and will put them on the fact site.

 

 

Glad to hear that there are a lot of activities to keep the children busy.

We have done the full repositioning cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Seattle several times on the Westerdam. And we used to have a formal night after we left San Diego.

But from what I understand, there isn't one any more -- at least not on this particular cruise.

Had a marvelous lunch with Marcia (dobiemom) at Anthony's. Really decent food. Forgot to take food porn pics, sorry.

 

How nice of her to travel all this way to meet up with us. We are very lucky indeed :)

San Diego sail a way is very pretty. Had fun on the aft sea view pool.

 

But miss our friends who have left.. And one we left behind after lunch.

 

Jacqui, it was SO nice to meet you and Jose face to face. Its' so funny how you to get to know someone on CC, and then to actually meet them it's like we've known each other forever! And really, it wasn't far away. You do things like that for friends. :) Thanks for taking time out of your port day to have lunch with me.

 

Glad you met up with Marcia today. Even when I lived in Southern California, I don't think I ever drove 100 mile each way for a lunch. ;)

You've been away from California too long. We don't measure things in miles but the time it take to get there. San Diego was only 1 hour 40 minutes at the longest. I've been to Santa Barbara for lunch few times: 2.5 hours. No biggee. ;):D

Yes the whales are migrating and you can see them spouting and a bit of jumping. All wrong terms I am sure, but hopefully everyone gets the Jist.

 

The sun is shining out by the sea view pool. Hard to believe it is the same ship.

 

One suitcase fully packed. Formal clothes put away in it and now working on trying to pack what're don't need. And to find room for all the " things" aka acquisitions

Correct KK. I think I posted early on I. The thread that all the formal nights were on our first segment.

 

The formal clothes are all packed up and 1of4 sent theirs home with her DH.

 

No formal optional either, just smart casual for the four days.

 

From some of the attire we have seen I can understand why (I did say some, now ;) )

That is something new that suite passengers were invited to a second suite cocktail party.

All the cruises we did like yours, only new passengers were invited to the suite cocktail party the evening we left San Diego.

And on our Collector's Cruise -- 2 different times -- only new passengers were invited.

KK, we have been invited to the two suite receptions on the P'Dam Collectors and on this one as well.

 

But my collectors' cruise experience is much more limited than yours.

 

So far, we have had invites.
