It was an October repo cruise from NYC to the Caribbean on Caribbean Princess, ending in FLL. Don't remember the price, but it was great for a minisuite. It came in a brochure via snail mail. EM

Emerald 2014 Caribbean 20 days for 1500 pp for A705 Balcony!!! It was listed for that amount as I was doing my daily price checking. We were a guarantee OV unobstructed. I called Princess immediately and was expecting to be told" forget It-a mistake" but the rep said we could take it. It was fantastic and that was our best deal yet in 26 Princess cruises!!

2013 Golden 14 day to Hawaii! We booked late into a 40% off sale mini-suite 26 days out. The just 7 days out received an upsell from Princess to a Sun deck Penthouse Suite for $299 each. Couldn't believe our good fortune! It was the most outstanding cruise we have been on!

A "Moveover" offer was by far our best, but since it was a moveover we had to cancel our July Med. cruise at the last minute and cruise in October instead (which was far better!). I don't remember the exact particulars as it was a number of years ago, but we went from inside to balcony, along with several thousand of on board credit (which we didn't completely use up and Princess cut us a check for). We had booked our air through Princess so it was all rebooked for us.

We still marvel at that offer, as we had booked the July cruise within five to six weeks of sailing as it was a Flash Sale.

Moveovers are usually wonderful deals if you are flexible and don't mind rescheduling.

This year...20 days on the Royal in a mini-suite for $1800 each plus $200 OBC. The sale only lasted a couple of days.

BUT we didn't book:(:(:(. We had scheduling conflicts. I still cry myself to sleep.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the 2 for one sale from a couple of years ago (?). We were on a Hawaii cruise and didn't hear about it until we got back (we weren't Platinum yet, so not checking emails). Immediately booked one of the few insides that were left. I envy the people who booked a suite and had enough credit to book 2 "free" cruises.

JF, we were booked for 9 days which included Thanksgiving. Apparently the 5 days after The Thanksgiving cruise was not selling. Before we embarked for our 9 days we were offered an additional 5 days for &100pp with $100 pp in OBC. . So pretty much free.. The upgrade to full suite was a surprise. We were supposed to be in a balcony cabin.

I really enjoyed the freebie offer (amount paid credited to my account) which we then used to purchase a transatlantic totally. But when I first saw the promo I thought it was a mistake so I let it pass. Fortunately the folks on this board assured me it was for real so I booked what was still available - no suites were left.

Our best deal was a 14-day B2B trip out of San Juan on the Caribbean Princess in March of 2012.

The cruise was cancelled (along w/several future cruises) after the ship had a propulsion component failure about 3 hours after sail away.

We had an 11pm sail away from San Juan and many were up and felt/heard the component failure.

We limped to the first port, St. Maarten and after a couple days there we limped back to San Juan.

Each successive update from the Captain was more dismal than the last.

Princess was hoping repairs in San Juan could set things right, but by the 5th day they announced a complete cancellation.

The ship would need to go to a better equipped port/facility for the needed repairs.

Some of the 7-day passengers had already begun to depart for home or other options on their own accord.

With the full cancellation, Princess began to adjust everyone’s return arrangements to fly everybody out over the next several days, we were some of the last passengers off the ship that following Monday.

The last evening on the boat was like being on a ghost ship.

Dining was in buffet only, I recall MUTS was playing a movie, and there were a couple bars and minor entertainment in one of the lounges.

You could walk the entire ship, it was wide open, but you would rarely encounter anyone else.

We had a 100% refund for this 14-day cruise, even after spending nine days on a beautiful ship parked in a couple different nice ports – beautiful weather!

We were even able to go onshore during the evenings, something you rarely get on the mainstream cruise itinerary!

Additionally, Princess gave us a credit of 50% of this cruise fare to apply to a future cruise – which we did of course!

And finally, when Princess re-booked our return flights home, we would up with first class tickets.

I gave Princess a lot of credit for how they handled that whole situation, very positively considering what was involved.

It was this trip and their credible conduct in resolving what was a bad time for thousands that made me a very loyal Princess customer!

The CB was repo-ing to San Juan, but before that she was going to drydock in Freeport, so the cruise went to Aruba before coming back to FLL. We left NYC in a snowstorm....actually, we rode out the storm in NY and left the next morning, missing San Juan. EM

We had an unexpected upgrade on Crown from an IC category to a B2 category. Ended up in a wheelchair accessible balcony on Caribe. Loved the room and the location and the huge balcony (the room and balcony are about 1.5 times as wide as a regular balcony room). No idea why we had such a big bump in category but we were quite pleased. I never did get a notice from Princess about it - just saw it on the personalizer a couple of weeks before we sailed.

Our best deal was a cruise fare under $1100 per person for a 12-night cruise tour--five nights in Alaska starting in Fairbanks followed by seven nights on the Sapphire Princess in a deluxe ocean view cabin with balcony. It was nearly peak season--started at the end of July. I haven't seen such a low price on a cruise tour other than the last ones of the season in September.

The 9 day CB cruise last Sept which wound up totally free & we walked off the ship with the OBC in our pocket. :D

Never known a ship to give you your unspent OBC. It's always been "use it or lose it":confused:

Panama Canal full transit 14 days $799 p/p

Southern Caribbean 10 days $599

Western Caribbean 7 days $279

All were oceanview cabins which we selected (not a guarantee)--inside cabin guarantees were going for even less. All courtesy of the last minute deal e-mails. Sure is nice to live right near port and be able to sail at the drop of a hat!

Also sailed a 7 day southern Caribbean to Aruba and Curacao (right before they discontinued them due to high fuel costs) for not as great a bargain--but we were offered an upsell to a BA balcony that would have made it as great a price as the balcony posts above (we foolishly passed).

Repo cruise: We're not much for flying but in fall 2013 I was watching for the best price on a Canada/New England to Florida repo. Princess was underbid by HAL: 13 nights Montreal to Ft Lauderdale $699 with a free upgrade from inside to oceanview; equivalent Princess cruise was a few days shorter embarking in Quebec City.

(And since someone mentioned moveover offers: best I've ever gotten was $700 total OBC to postpone an Alaska cruise two weeks. Not even close to the value of the aggravation I would have gone through at work to change my vacation dates)

Easy Peasy: if you have refundable...just ask for it (usually veteran's and travel agent are refundable). If it is non-refundable...go to the casino, play a slot machine for a couple of minutes (keeping an eye on your balance and then cash it out.:D

The Emerald cruise we just took in Feb. Caribe balcony for $575 pp + we used a future booking credit so we had the OBC from that in addition to $50 from our TA and the $100 military OBC for my DH. We used points from Amex for the air and Marriott points for the 2 nights in Houston pre cruise. :)
