We had booked to go to south america but 2 weeks before we went ta called saying princess had overbooked that cruise and wanted to do a deal. Deal was full refund and free cruise to the value of what we had originally paid.

Total no brainer.:):):)

Hi All

Back in the days when Princess did charter flights, was on the phone to Princess about a cruise to Auz, when the girl said a cancellation had just appeared for two weeks in the Caribbean,

the cost of the flight was £2 return we took it.Flying Birmingham to Barbados

Original Regal Princess $799 for inside cabin on 30 day cruise from Bangkok to Rome. It was right after we invaded Iraq and there was a SARS epidemic in Asia. People cancelled in droves. The ship was half empty so they closed off several sections and we got upgraded to a balcony. Many ports were changed because of SARS so we called it the Great Mystery Cruise because we were never sure of where we would actually go. Lots of lovely friendly passengers on board so we had a great time.

No free cruise or great deals like some of you, but my last cruise was darn good. We got a inside cabin for $399pp for a 7 day cruise, plus $50 OBC, plus a free dinner in the Crown Grill. Because we have been to all of the ports(California Coastal) we walked to Chinatown in SF, had some dim sum for 2 plates under $10. In Ensenada we found a tour to La Bufadora for $15 each. In San Diego I bought ho-ho trolley tickets on line which were much cheaper then Princess. The only difference is we had to walk one block to catch the trolley instead of a pick up in front of the ship. All in all including transportation to LA and back, tips, excursions, drinks, a hotel in Long Beach and hubby bought a Tommy Bahama shirt on board, total cost for everything was $2,000 at most. I am a happy cruiser.

It's a toss up, but our best one was probably last winter when we took a Ruby 5 day Caribbean cruise for free. We had already booked at ta on the Ruby for the fall so we were able to apply the credit to that booking.

Also in the spring of 2009 we took a 15 day spring ta on the Ruby, and there were so many price drops that my travel agent joked that pretty soon Princess would be paying us to sail. I think we started at $1700 pp for a midship balcony, and by the time we sail it was around $1000 pp.

In 2003 I was on a 30 day cruise between Auckland and Bangkok as a single. During this time SARS and the Iraq war broke out. I was able to remain on the ship for 52 additional days in a balcony for 35.00 per day. I disembarked in Copenhagen. Has to be one of the bet deals ever.

What a fun thread.

$2090: upcoming cruise, minisuite, royal 20 day. When I booked it was same price as the balcony, and only slightly higher then inside. Price only posted for 2 days, then almost doubled, and only at this rate when I was actually logged into princess.

$299, Alaska inside, early in season, i booked BTB, as cheaper then flight home. This was a last minute deal, received email. Past guest, not sure if also BC resident.

Diamond trans-Pacific in Sept 2009. We were going to travel 15 days Anchorage to Beijing, but the price dropped on the 7 days Vancouver to Anchorage. We booked 22 days for less than we were going to spend for 15 with the air fare savings not flying to Anchorage from Manchester.

Greatest cruise yet!

Steve

Alaska 2013 on the Island Princess. While 2 seven day actual cruises, Princess was selling as a 14 day for 629! It seemed to me that the port charges for the 14 day were just a few dollars more than the 7 day at 220! We received the military 250 as well. Also, this was the guarantee cost for an interior and we received an OV midship when assigned. Best we ever received

2009, eastbound transatlantic, Grand Princess, balcony cabin on Caribe Deck for under $100/night/pp. The Grand Princess holds 2,600 passengers, but on this cruise there were only 1,500 on board. It was great, no crowds anywhere.

The Getaways Special last January. I had a suite on the Ruby for fourteen days as a solo cruiser and got the whole thing back (less port charges) as a FCC. Well, two suites as I couldn't get the same one all the way through, five in one and nine in the other.

How did I find it? Well, I had originally booked a balcony but just kept checking for available suites, eventually all three segments fell into place. One I saw when I woke up at 4 am, I checked the laptop, saw one available, put a no money hold on it, went back to bed and at 9 am called Princess (I had no TA then). After some internal discussion as apparently there was a waiting list, they gave it to me.

My best princess deal is coming up in October.... 7 day New England out of New York. My in-laws are treating 12 of us to balcony rooms on the Regal. they are even paying for our transfers and gratuities. They like to share their love of cruising with us. We are very lucky. :D

I booked the deal on the 20 night Royal Princess (Oct. 2015) that others have mentioned. It's an awesome deal. I found the info here on CC.

In July, 2013, I got 14 days (2 B2B 7 day cruises) on the Coral Princess in a mini for $2000. In addition, I got OBC, Shareholders, FCC OBC and free gratuities. It was an offer Princess sent me in the mail.

Best was probably a 15 day Hawaii. I booked a mini for $4000 and got a free upgrade to a full suite. Just lucky on this one.

Best deal ever was a mover-over offer from Princess. We were able to choose any date, any ship with the same itinerary. Got upgraded to a minisuite on the new Royal Princess. Had one of the large angular balconies. Plus we received $1,500 refundable onboard credit in addition to the onboard credits that we already had. It was a free cruise with money leftover. A check arrived in the mail about two weeks after the cruise for the balance of the onboard account credit. We didn't even have to ask for the check. Princess sent it with no delay and no fuss.

Sailing single, no supplement, from Tahiti to Hawaii, way back in 1999, in a cabin with a window! :) :D I haven't had a deal like it since. It was published in a Captain Circle mag and I couldn't believe it!

I got to Alaska with another cruise line no supplement because I had a 25% off coupon (missed ports on a cruise) and their supplement was 20% at the time. It happened in 1996, those days are gone.

My best deal was recent as of last Saturday April 11th while onboard the Star Princess I was given a free 7 day cruise by the casino manager. $140 due in port fees per person, that's it!! DEAL!

I was wondering: how much do you have to gamble (win? lose?) to get a deal like that?;)

Moveover offer. The night before the cruise they called us. Said if we chose to cancel they would move us over to the Royal. We went from inside to deluxe balcony. They gave us $1000 onboard credit. Cash for what we did not use.

Wow amazing deal! Except for the week it happened and our vacation plans change so suddenly.

You win, but the Getaway was my best deal, too. Caribe balcony on the Ruby was the best that I got....but I got the money back on another cruise...that was awesome! Alice
