Agreek with you.....they should have a few choices for folks who can't do heavy syrup/sugar,

Drinks at World Bar will be too pricey for us...content with other places on the ship

If it gets a big following it may take the strain off u Martini and other bars,,,now that many cruisers have a bev package.

If the drinks at the World Class Bar are too expensive for you, then the menu at the Martini Bar would also be too expensive for you and any strain taken off of it would not matter too much since 90+% of the offerings at the Martini Bar are over and above the classic package limit. The only exceptions would be if the bartender decided to make a classic level drink for you and YMMV depending upon your sailing.

On our last few cruises we had the Classic package as part of triple perks, but the S class Martini Bar areas were too crowded and noisy for us to truly enjoy so no idea about pricing. This was when they had the loud DJ there.. but .lately it has been better managed

A few yrs ago on Silhouette we went there a la carte on several nights and found the prices OK. .I don't drink much anyhow due to the sugar issues and meds .....but like to accompany dh and socialize with folks from our roll calls..,It was a fun place to meet...esp the little lounge area off to the side.

We are partial to the Ensemble lounge and Passport Bar....and the Sunset Bar area..,but will no doubt check out the new space

I just got off the Reflection and the changeover is not until Oct or Nov. the Molecular has a much smaller menu until the changeover.

Hi Lady-Tans-a-lot

Thanks for the heads up -- can you remember what drinks were available at the Molecular Bar ?

Having tended bar the first time in 1975, what would give an alcoholic beverage the tag 'world class'? Looking thru the bar tenders guide and can't find any drinks listed there as world class. What makes one get this classification?

The price, EW! :D

charge enough and it becomes world class ;)

I saw from another thread that the "rituals" are $18 and "not included in any package" so they are the full $18 and not $5 if you have the premium package, correct?

No , this is not correct - on my Eclipse sailing earlier this year I can confirm they only charge the difference on premium package - and it wasn't $5 , classic packages I believe have to pay the full amount.

I enjoyed the drinks, they were novel if perhaps they did not feel as special as some of the Molecular ones, that said - it was a first cruise so it takes some time for the staff to find their flair with these things and the Ice Ball maker was very cool

Apparently all the fan-fare about the World Class Bar was much a do about nothing . Posts here confirm that the rollout has not happened on most ships - Reflection has a sadly depleted Molecular Bar still - Celebrity have dropped the ball on this.:(

I will ask my husband as he has a better memory for this type of thing and will report back. Tanned Russian and Mr. B were; Coming up Roses, which is my favorite, was not. The whole atmosphere was changed and the bar tenders seemed disheartened and like they could not wait for their contracts to be over due to the watered down nature. We only went there twice and typically on a cruise it is a nightly ritual! Sunset Bar took its place!

Can anyone confirm if the World Class Bar is up and running on the Silhouette? If it's not, do they still have the Molecular Bar?

When My Guy and I were on the Silhouette in July, it was still the Molecular Bar. I stopped by for a drink one afternoon, and to watch the Open that was playing on the TVs there. I didn't find a drink I wanted - as others have mentioned, the menu seems to be smaller than it once was. And I thought the area had a damp smokey smell to it, so I left. After that, most days when I walked through there I thought it smelled smokey, so I avoided the area.

I understand that the switch will happen when the ship moves back to the Carribean.

Drat! We're the second or last cruise before it does its TA cruise from the Med to the Carribean. Oh well, just have to find somewhere else to have a drink!

That tells you how different everyone is. I keep hoping the Molecular bar will still be there Nov 15

So, is there anything in these drinks that cannot be replaced by non Top Shelf liquor to reduce the cost? Are these REALLY world class?

Not quite sure I understand your question...

Are you asking 1 - if any would be included in the classic package if they used a cheaper product? or 2 - asking why couldn't celebrity have them made with cheaper product to reduce the costs?

Either way I'm 100% sure the answer to the first question would be no... As It's a specialist bar that serves a menu of specific drinks without any deviation of ingredients...

And as for the second question is say that's what makes it a specific specialist bar so the answer would be no again...

It's not a standard bar that you can rock up to and get a coke or gin & tonic... Unless of course you have a special relationship with the bar person... [emoji12]

Even if you had a special relationship, they do not have Coke or tonic at the bar for you to possibly get an off the menu drink. I have to infer that the set up will be just like it was when it was the Molecular Bar and only a specific list of drinks will be available and no extras such as bottled water or soda can be obtained. If you want those, you'll need to walk about 60 feet away or so to Cafe al Bacio.

For most people you are absolutely correct... But let's say I'm aware of someone that was indeed served a nice cold coke and on another night even a herbal remedy as said person wasn't feeling the best! [emoji12]
