reedl Posted June 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2015 When you book another cruise while on a cruise, when do you get the On Board Credit bonus? Is it applied to this cruise, or to the cruise you are booking? Can you choose? The reason I ask is that I am planning on booking a 12 night cruise in the future and the OBC would be much better use then rather than now. Thanks! You can choose to get the OBC immediately or on the future cruise. If you choose immediate, then your deposit is not refundable. reedl Posted June 19, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Great. That works for me!
Clarea Posted June 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Great. That works for me! I would also ensure you tell the crewmember upfront that you want the OBC on the future cruise. Some have reported here that they are not asked, and the OBC was given immediately.
sippican Posted June 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2015 On our recent cruise we were told OBC was to be applied to that sailing only, not a future booking.

Me thinks I shall print that page out and have it with me so if they try the "only for this sailing" thing I can politely say "Uh, no." :)

Tiggertastic Posted June 19, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 19, 2015 You have to make sure they know in advance. We already had obc on the current cruise and had no reason or use for anymore and they tried to assign to the current one. We really wanted it on the next one. pcur Posted June 20, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 20, 2015 You have to request the obc for the future booking, and then sign an authorization form. Jenhem31 Posted June 20, 2015 #11 Share Posted June 20, 2015 In April on Liberty we were told it had to be used on the current cruise and were not able to apply it to the future one.
pcur Posted June 20, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 20, 2015 In April on Liberty we were told it had to be used on the current cruise and were not able to apply it to the future one. An excellent reason to print the policy and take it with us when we plan to book on board. The Future Cruise staff don't always get the best training. I book Azamara on a Celebrity cruise in April. I knew I was supposed to receive an additional 4% off because I was D+, therefore Discoverer on Azamara. The LA who booked for me said I only got the onboard booking bonus, and the BOGOHO. She called me later that day, because her manager told her I was entitled to the additional discount. I knew I would straighten it out when I got home and talked to my travel agent, anyway, but I should have taken a printed copy of the policy.
