Colo Cruiser Posted July 10, 2015 #26 Share Posted July 10, 2015 Have to try it at least once before you knock the idea. :)
jasbo49 Posted July 10, 2015 #27 Share Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Go mini. E728 is available. It's one of the best minis on the ship. It has a nearly double-wide balcony. And the sofa and extra room really do make a huge difference on a longer cruise. Jim Edited July 10, 2015 by jasbo49

Colo Cruiser Posted July 11, 2015 #30 Share Posted July 11, 2015 With the mini suite you each get a complimentary glass of champagne at the sail away. Headache water. :p

caribill Posted July 11, 2015 #34 Share Posted July 11, 2015 For sure, the champagne was not good. Actually, it is not real Champagne since it did not come from that region of France. It is sparkling wine.
lbfluffy Posted July 11, 2015 Author #35 Share Posted July 11, 2015 I went ahead and booked the balcony. I got the sip and sail plus prepaid tips paid and a $285 OBC. I chose guarantee so hopefully I will get an upgrade but any balcony will do

skf Posted July 11, 2015 #37 Share Posted July 11, 2015 Actually, it is not real Champagne since it did not come from that region of France. It is sparkling wine. Bon Dieu! Please do not call other sparking wine champagne while in France; you'd likely get exiled for life. We got an offer for an Ultimate Beverage Pkg valued at $788.90 for a 14-day cruise; we took the alternative, a $250 onboard credit. We do not want to get a drink package and then drink ourselves silly. Value is in the eye of the beholder.
Rare MicCanberra Posted July 11, 2015 #38 Share Posted July 11, 2015 Drink packages are not for everyone which is why they offer choices.:D

Luv2escape Posted July 11, 2015 #40 Share Posted July 11, 2015 We have taken 11 Princess Cruises, last time we tried a Mini on Dolphin deck, it was OK:) but this time we are back to a Caribe Balcony. (Our Fav) Cabin choice like food is entirely subjective so enjoy your cruise!!!!:)
Jules59 Posted July 12, 2015 #41 Share Posted July 12, 2015 We love a certain mini-suite on the Grand class Princess ships. The balcony is so much bigger and curves around a bit to the back. We spend a lot of time on there. Plus, like the extra room and couch. And the bath tub so you don't have to have that shower curtain hugging you. moonhunter Posted July 12, 2015 #44 Share Posted July 12, 2015 A balcony is definitely worth it, but not so much a mini.
Rare MicCanberra Posted July 12, 2015 #45 Share Posted July 12, 2015 A balcony is definitely worth it, but not so much a mini. The mini suites do not get any of the suite perks but they do get a little larger room and a bath tub. great for scuba divers and their equipment.:D
iceleven Posted July 12, 2015 #46 Share Posted July 12, 2015 You have your balcony and you will be happy with it. But, keep your eye on the prices as you get closer to your cruise. Sometimes there are price drops on the minis and the difference could be nominal. If it's a good price, call your TA and ask her to upsell you to the mini. Earlier this year we booked a Caribe deck balcony and ended up with a mini for only about $150 more for the both of us. It can happen.
