Leave the ship one day before…

Hello fellow cruisers !

I am questioning about the possibility of leaving the ship the day before the «official» deboarding.

My last POC is in Singapore with an overnight before the transfert to the airport and returning home.

If possible, what kind of arrangement do I have to take ?

With whom ? Hope not with the HA TA.

I had already booked and my Preboarding docs are on the road...

Thanks in advance !

Yes, you can, just inform the front desk that you leave the day before the disembarkation. The immigration officials are right in the hall off the ship, that's why you always need your passport to go through immigr/customs. In the Hall you can take the subway to Changi (40 min) or Taxi (30 min).

Are you thinking about disembarking the night before due to an early flight on the morning of disembarkation? If so, that may not be necessary.

When my cruise ended in Singapore, with an overnight there, disembarkation started at 3:00 AM. This was so a planeload of passengers could make a 6:00 AM flight.

The Lido was open for breakfast; I don't know if the dining room was. HAL transfers were available.

My DH left the ship 4 days ahead of me and the children in April this year. He needed to get approval from HAL (TA did this) in writing. Then we had to show the front desk the letter to confirm once onboard.

Hola, from the also magnifique Victoria, lucky you, ending in Singapore. I hope you will be spending some time there also, either before or after your cruise. It's a very interesting spot. But you may have to notify HAL before you sail that you wish to disembark early. And it's true, they will allow you off the ship super early, if you prefer. You should let them know your plans well in advance though.

And have something in writing that will verify this.

I have a similar question. The cruise I'm booked on has 3 different options (17 Night RT Southampton, 17 Night RT Rotterdam, 16 Night embark Rotterdam, disembark Southampton). Each of these is a distinct "cruise" with its own pricing. I have booked the 17 Night RT Rotterdam, but if better frequent flyer tickets become available closer to my sailing, may want to disembark a day early in Southampton (which would then be identical to the 16 Night itinerary). The official 16 Night sailing has a base fare that is $100 less but has more than double the taxes & fees than the 17 Night I'm on (making the 16 Night actually more expensive after taxes & fees). So I'm wondering if I'm allowed to disembark in Southampton, would I have those other fees?

THANKS!

You really need to call HAL and ask this question to be sure. I would doubt that they would refund your fees and taxes, but I do not know for certain.

Second time in Singapore ! This time => 2 night stay.

Always at the Marina Bay Sands and it's magnifique pool..! Last time, at the Ku De Ta Bar, I've paid 25,00$ CDN for a can of Budweiser..!

I just want to disembark the day before to stay at the Pan Pacific Singapore and visit the ferris wheel and the night zoo.

Very prudent. Absolutely get approval from HAL is writing. Front desk is not reliable. On one occasion where I debarked early, I had written approval from HAL but the ship knew nothing about it and caused an embarrassing situation.

No problem for us! Written approval from HAL from Corporate, as well as a email from ship services with our reservation number in our docs! We did call a couple of days ahead of time to make sure everything was good!

We met at the front office the day before we got off and they escorted us off no problem!

Our two-day-early disembarkation was arranged thru HAL before we sailed. We received written permission and brought that with us.

Told the Neptune Concierge about it immediately and it was the first she'd heard of it. She made copies of our authorization and a few days later advised that we were A-OK to disembark early as requested.

I'm glad we took up the matter early in the voyage and didn't just "assume" that all was well with our written authorization.
