Excellent job of crew Ms Ryndam at our anniversary!

Just celebrated our wedding anniversary during our 2 week cruise on Ryndam and we were pleasantly surprised by the crew for this special day, although it was not even a “crown year”!

Morning started with a phone call from guest services, congratulating with this occasion. Later on we received complementary chocolate covered strawberries in our stateroom and at diner the dining room staff sang for our celebration with a nice cake.

In all a great day, the day after, the staff gave us a call to ask if everything was to our satisfaction, which it was.

For us, this was a first and we were more than happy with all of the attention we got and we felt very privileged and special.

By the way, they were indeed 3 days early, the actual day was 3 days later in this cruise, but we didn’t dare tell them and it did not matter at all to us, we felt very privileged to celebrate this occasion on board Ryndam and had one of the best wedding anniversaries ever!

Thank you Ryndam! :D

We've had a couple of anniversaries on a HAL ship, and they always make it special! Congratulations.:)

We also had some outstanding Anniversary Celebrations on HAL ships. Some were truly incredible and the memories are so special. :)

was there any update on the noro virus that had been on board in earlier cruises..

we are sailing 29th august

Strict Noro prevention measures were in force during the entire 2 weeks, but we did not encounter, nor hear about any cases during our 2 weeks,

Were the hot tubs closed, library, no salt and pepper shakers, bread baskets etc?

Nope, none of this.

Library open and to the best of my knowledge the hot tubs also, but did not use them, so cannot be 100% sure.

We knew of the Noro history on previous cruises, but the only things we noticed that were extra, were the strict (hand) sanitizing rules, also the sanitizing of the embarkation hangar before the check in process started in Harwich and also the sanitizing of buses before the start of the ships tour(s) in all of the ports. Also the serving spoons and forks were frequently changed in the Lido, but no missing of salt/pepper and these sort of things.

How did they know it was your anniversary? I've had them celebrate my birthday before because obviously they get your DOB as part of your booking info. However, we've spent nearly every one of our anniversary's onboard one ship or another and it's never been mentioned.

Happy Anniversary!

During the booking proces at HAL (direct), one of the questions is, if you have anything to celebrate...
