packing wine bottles

what way do you recommend taking the wine bottles on the ship - carry them on or put in the main suitcase?

 

i'm concerned if we put them in the suitcase, they'll somehow break or leak out even though they're completely sealed then dirty our clothes. does anyone have a way they've tried to make sure this doesn't happen or should we just play it safe and carry them on? thank you.

We always carry ours on - just show them to the security guards when you are boarding and you should be all set.

you can buy wine bottle bags on Amazon or at Bed Bath and Beyond (wine diapers, some people call them), if the bottle breaks inside the sealed bag, the padding absorbs the entire amount .750 ml of wine - have used several times

You're supposed to carry them, not put them in your main suitcase. They will xray your suitcase and they may required you to go to the naughty room to claim your items. They will not provide porter service for your suitcase back to your room. You also find that you won't have your bags till very late.

 

Much better to carry on. Saves a lot of trouble.

I use a wine carrier, but it holds a lot more. Security rarely/never looks at it. This is in Port Canaveral. Also, the beer bag makes a nice wine cooler

The allowance is 2 x 750 ml. bottles per stateroom, and yes, you can bring them to the MDR.

Yes and yes. Two 750 ml bottles per cabin. No corkage fee.
