Travelinmomma, as someone who just went out and bought a new package of socks to avoid the laundry on my upcoming cruise (tomorrow) I totally hear you! Will ask. It wasn't mentioned. From my recollection last year on Breakaway, don't recall laundry. It matters, I agree.

I'm wondering if there will be any self serve laundry facilities. I know. I'm a super exciting person. ;)

Thank you and most everyone above my post has asked the things I'd like to see as well. We are scheduled for Jan. sail. We'd like to know if "Bong" and/or "Lorelie" will be bartenders on this ship. They were on the Getaway and we had a blast because of them. That was our 3rd cruise ship where "Bong" was bartending. He is simply the BEST!

thank you!

Bong is opening the ship. I don't know the other person.

I just booked a studio for my 2016 cruise. I expect the actual studios/rooms will be like the ones on the Epic, Breakaway, and Getaway, so no need to see any more, but would love to see the studio lounge area, and I hear this ship actually has three levels/decks with studio cabins. I love the concept, and look forward to my cruise next year:), though a long wait:(

Hi. Oddly, and it only just now occurred to me, we never did get to see the studio set-up. It was such a rush (we only saw one cabin, which was a spa suite).

I'm as curious as you are so will ask. Maybe it just wasn't done enough to see.

My husband just booked the crossing cruise (he's traveling on business, and I can't go) and the studio fare was $1,700 for one person. He wound up in an inside for $1,000. So clearly they are popular....

I suppose anything is possible, but I would've amazed if there was a self service laundry.

I believe that NCL removed all such laundries from their older ships a while ago, and it seems to be their policy not to have one.

While I wouldn't book a particular cruise line or ship because it had a laundry, it sure is a nice amenity.

Hi, checking in to make sure I haven't missed anyone's questions? Please let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know about Escape! Thanks.

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

Will it be you from Cruise Critic that does a video review/tour of the Escape? I've missed you the last few NCL ship debuts.

Hi Carolyn. If I missed your response to my question regarding internet connectivity/speed and accessibility on the ship, I apologize. Was this ever discussed on your tour? Thanks again, Jack

Hi, Ernie! A couple of answers:

There isn't one set nightclub for late night dancing, I'm told, but definitely Skyline could be a spot as could Margaritaville. I feel like I'm missing something. Skyline was okay -- it wasn't quite as dramatic as the Disney version and it's open to the casino so may not feel clubby. Love the plush red banquettes though. There are four screens, I believe.

The spa is larger to accommodate larger passenger base. It's designed to be more open in the fitness area, and somewhat enlarged, but not dramatically different. It's bigger in the spa area (lovely). The only new feature is the snow room.

It was a blast. I'm beat, though :) -- hope this helps, let me know if there are other questions. Can't wait to hear about your crossing!

Carolyn

Thanks so much Carolyn! Appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. I really enjoyed Bliss on my EPIC crossing earlier this year, so I think I'm going to miss that on ESCAPE. Hopefully whatever they use as an alternative will be decent.

Wish you were going with us on the crossing but at least Teijo will be there. I look forward to meeting up with him for a little "shop talk". LOL

Be well!

Bong is definite. Lorelie is staying on the Getaway. From what she said, I don't think opening a new ship is her thing.

Aaaww :( We had a blast with her on the Getaway. Thanks for following up for me. I'm sure we'll find more awesome bartenders on this next cruise. It's always nice tho to see familiar faces.
