First, SO ENVIOUS OF YOU! Second, YOU ROCK for being willing to do this. Third, I'd love any and all photos you take, but especially of the kids areas where the Nick stuff was supposed to be. And if possible, could you take a few pics of the Private Room in Taste? Thank you again! I hope you enjoy it (even if I am turning green with envy as I type! lol)

Pictures of the Thermal Suite and main dining rooms.

Since we are non-smokers, we dislike how smoke from the casino cascades down into the area around Le Bistro and the comedy club on the Getaway and Breakaway,,, maybe they have found a better HVAC engineer to design a way to move smoke away from other public areas.

As peg013 mentioned, any info on the aft penthouses (H-6) would be appreciated. On which decks are the 2 configurations located. Right now , based on the photos it appears that the Bathrooms by the balcony are on decks 11 and 14 and the Bedroom by the balcony are decks 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15. If you can confirm this with some photos I am In your debt....

Thanks again and enjoy your trip

Hi, traveling to Germany's Papenburg tomorrow to visit Meyer Werft's shipyard there -- and of course the tour of Norwegian Escape, just about a month and a half away from launch, is the most exciting of a handful of events.

The tour is short. For such a large ship we get about 1.5 hours to check it out. While I can't promise anything to anyone because the tour is out of our control, I do have my camera charged and ready to go, and would love to know: What do you most want to know about Norwegian Escape? Please participate in our poll, and feel free to add your comments.

A couple of caveats: The ship won't be fully ready so it's still going to look a little bit rough. That's normal. Two: Not sure how many cabin types we'll get to see but will try to focus on newer developments there.

And it goes without saying: We'll continue to comment beyond tomorrow, and stay tuned for our slideshow (we'll provide a link) later this week.

Okay, onward!

Carolyn

PS Please feel free to tick multiple boxes!

Hi Carolyn,

The floor plans & the artists impressions of the H6 (aft facing PH) are different. One has a 4-seater table, and the other has a wall-mounted desk/counter. If you get a chance, please let me know which is correct.

Also, for 10914 I'd like to know if the bed is by the window. :)

Gracias!

Stephen

Guppy nursery info! I am giving ncl another chance by booking the escape in april with an almost 2 year old. I really hope it is on par with disneys nursery. Also how the pool deck and pool sizes compare to the away class.

I'm with meggybear, would love to see real pics of the Guppy Nursery, as we too booked the Escape primarily due to the promise of a real dedicated nursery for children from 6 months to 3 years.

So how was it? With the time difference compared to where I live, I'm sure this has already taken place, but there will likely be 50 other people still requesting something from your 1 hour tour. LOL!

They only left today for Germany so I doubt they've had the tour yet. OP is in New Jersey, so probably a late afternoon flight will get in about 1 a.m. central time (U.S.) and then if flying into Hamburg it will only be a couple hours drive to Meyer-Werft. However, if flying into Frankfurt it will be a 3 hour ICE train ride plus the few hours drive to the shipyard. I think we need to wait a bit longer :D

Glad everyone's so enthusiastic :) --

Showed the poll above to the folks at Norwegian and they were really surprised that Jimmy Buffett's scoring so well (pleased and surprised). Also loved the enthuiasm you have for the Haven. I was suprised that the Michael Mondavi wine bar didn't score higher, but maybe that's just because I'm a wine fan.

If you haven't voted, please cast yours!

Big change today: Conveyance, set for Wednesday, has been pushed to Friday due to weather issues. So we'll miss that. In other developments, our tour has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning (6 hours ahead of US) which actually is a good thing. Why, you ask? Because we're going to get more than an hour or so to see the whole ship, which is a great thing far as we're concerned. The ship's what we all want to know about, so more time = more photos and discoveries.

So stay tuned on that end.

We did get to see the steel cutting of Norwegian Bliss today -- it's due out in spring 2017. The steel cutting is the first real stage in the official creation of a ship, so it's fun. I'll write a short news item for Cruise Critic on that.

And not to tease you too much: We did get a very fleeting look at the ship via the reception at Taste that was planned for today. Weren't allowed to wander elsewhere, alas. But it was an, er (forgive the pun) taste.

Quick observations:

*The ship looks great and it's much closer to being finished than I expected. At Taste the pictures were on the wall (protected), the carpet's laid, etc. Signage was up at the elevator banks (though we didn't use elevators).

*Taste itself is two levels, with a beautiful staircase area that leads down to the private room. If booking the private room for your group you can order off Taste and also create your own menu, according to Norwegian execs.

*Got to meet Captain Evans Hoyt, who was Breakaway's captain; he'll be ushering Norwegian Escape into being as well.

Love your questions, keep voting if you haven't, and I'll post more photos tomorrow. A few will follow here now....
