Another ship we can't sail

Maybe the 2022 new build from Fincantieri... just a mere five years away! It makes sense now that NCL put an Alaska designed new build in the Caribbean... because there is nothing new coming anytime soon. Grr..

Really looking forward to Celebrity's new Edge class ship(s) and the itineraries half March!

Agree. There's a lot of fun stuff in the pipeline between now and 2022... Edge class, Seaside, 2 or 3 Virgin ships... all of which makes the wait til 2022 seem that much longer.

I suppose it'll be an ideal time to check out what's going on in the rest of the industry.

NCL's presence in Miami will be weak in summer/fall 2018. MSC will have Seaside and a newly renovated terminal. RCCL will have a brand new terminal and Harmony O.T.S. will be in Miami in fall 2018. Carnival will have Vista sailing out of Miami in summer 2018. NCL won't have Bliss in Miami until after summer and Escape will be in NY.

About an hour ago Meyer Werft announced that the Norwegian Joy is supposed to leave the building hall on March 4th at 8 am (German time). Of course all is depending on the weather.

Prior to the float out of the Norwegian Joy the second part of the World Dream has to leave the building hall which is supposed to take place on Friday, March 3rd. The first part is already outside and has to move to another part of the shipyard harbor to make place for the Norwegian Joy.

Once at the pier the Norwegian Joy will get her funnel. Also the 1,600 crew members will board for trainings and getting the ship ready.

I´m not sure whether this sentence in the German press release is really correct. It says that right after delivery the first paying passengers will board the ship. As no cruises in Europe are on sale this might be a mistake ("copy and paste" from a previous press release).

Norwegian Joy is heading to Guam after leaving Singapore on the 20 May 2017.

What is N. Joy doing in Guam. There is nothing but sharks and coconuts there. Do they have a dock there.

It looks like N. Joy dream of riches in the China market is on hold for now.

Ah! if only they have done their ground work like RCI did 5 years ago. But nobody knew that the China market would be this good. Cannot just come in and take a slice of the market, not with this government in China. Lessons to be learn the hard way with Genting Dream. I wouldn't bet on them homeporting in Shanghai.
