Is Everything 24/7?

Specifically, on Carnival. In other words, can one swim, go the casino, etc. at any time of day? I'm pretty sure I read that there are 24-hour pizza and ice cream bars.

Thanks in advance!

Generally, no. Most of the venues shut down late at night, the majority of the restaurants will close down, the pools will be closed late at night for cleaning and maintenance.

10 Carnival cruises.

No, it's not Vegas or NYC where it's 24/7

Pools, closed at night.

Hot tubs closed at night

Casino, depends on business but will close at least by 4AM, will be closed while in ports or will reopen around 11AM on sea days

Night clubs, shut down around 2AM

24/7 pizza

24/7 room service

nope.

pools are generally shut down around midnight or so for cleaning. at best one hot tub will be left open on a rotating basis

casino aslo shuts down at some point and is closed while the ship is in port.

the 24 pizza is a misnomer as well.. on the carnival cruises I have taken the pizza station was NOT open 24/7 it was closed until as late as 11 am and shut down as early as 11 pm.

same with the self serve soft ice cream. they do get shut down for maintenance/cleaning. MAYBE they rotate which one is shut down but on occasion both were down at the same time. I wanna say they were not up and running til about 11 am most days as well.

the bars/lounges typically are closed by 2 or 3 am as well.

there might be ONE venue serving food or drinks at any given hour especially late at night or very early in the am.

This is going to sound trivial, but bear with me...

On all the Carnival ships I've been on (4), the casino was always open, using the definition of "open" as "access not blocked". You can go in, touch the machines, sit at the tables, or pass by on the Promenade.

If you define "open" as "partially or fully in operation", then yes, it does close. These are the general times it is closed:

* On embarkation day it will be closed until the ship is far enough away to be in international waters.

* On days in port, it will be closed until it moves into international waters (usually about 1/2 hour after departure, but there are exceptions)

* On days at sea, the slots will open about 7 AM, while the table games start opening about 10 AM.

* I'm not usually up this late, but my guess is the casino closes between 2 and 5 AM, depending on how busy it is.

Venues close but generally very late at night/early morning hours. You can still get food, your options are just more limited. Our teens always loved ordering pizza and cookies late at night from room service. It's become a tradition they continue now in their 20's. They keep a "tip" envelope for room service in their dresser in the cabin because room service isn't included in your auto-gratuities. You can usually go somewhere on the ship to get food yourself, but the buffets aren't open and as I said, options are more limited late at night.
