I have heard that once you're made the upsell offer and refuse, they move on to other pax on that sailing. To me, $700/pp to go from a Signature Suite to a Neptune Suite isn't too bad, depending on the particular sailing. But I'm guessing it's too late now to worry about it. :(

OceanBreeze11 Posted November 3, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted November 3, 2015 I am fine with what we have. Just wasn't sure how it all worked if they would offer again .
shrimpboat123 Posted November 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2015 If no one takes the offer, they will start a new round with a lower price. If I'm expecting a possible upsell, I look at the price difference between the category I'm in and the category I'd like on upsell for. Then I figure out what I'd be willing to pay and be prepared if they come with an offer close to what I'm willing to pay. My starting position is usually 50% of the difference or less. Rare Scrapnana Posted November 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 3, 2015 You could do a lot with $100 per day. I wouldn't have taken the upsale either especially since you are pleased with what you have.
In Toronto Posted November 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 3, 2015 I think it was $700.00 per couple not per person.

slabeaume Posted November 3, 2015 #11 Share Posted November 3, 2015 We're going on a 7 night cruise that leaves this Sunday. We were offered an upsell about 2 weeks out. It was too much for us so we declined. About a week later we got another upsell offer---for the exact same amount. Between the 2 offers, we got our guarantee assignment--not a great one, but still couldn't see upselling for more then we had in the cruise already. janmcn Posted November 3, 2015 #12 Share Posted November 3, 2015 SY/SS's are our favorite cabins...we don't need/want the "perks" of the Neptunes, so we'd never take the upsells either...think you made a good choice IMO for this cruise. Love the Signature Suites by themselves. Have fun!
sunsetbeachgal Posted November 3, 2015 #13 Share Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) As others said, only you can answer if it is worth it to you. We took an upsell from a very low price on a veranda guarantee to Neptune Suite for our Baltic cruise which was 12 days. It worked out to be a little less than an additional $100 per day in total for the two of us. Best money we ever spent!! George C Posted November 3, 2015 #14 Share Posted November 3, 2015 I would have taken upsell, but as said the ss/sy are really nice the Neptune are not that much bigger or nicer, but we so love the Pinnacle breakfast, Hal really should improve perks for suites, most other lines offer more. DaveOKC Posted November 3, 2015 #16 Share Posted November 3, 2015 How far out of sail date Hal starts shuffling and offer upgrades/up sells? 2 weeks is about average. Can be 1-4 weeks however.
