AndyT3 Posted November 10, 2015 #76 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Well, since the RC site is still not working for me, I checked on one of the major TA websites, and according to their numbers, it was about $350 more.

crazycatlady82 Posted November 10, 2015 #78 Share Posted November 10, 2015 No savings for me. $200 more for our NYE 2016 cruise and $350 more for our March cruise.
spazzyjanet Posted November 10, 2015 #79 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Price of the cruise went up $600 to get $300 in OBC. No thanks. I guess it's good that I went ahead and booked last weekend ahead of the sale.
AndyT3 Posted November 10, 2015 #80 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Well, I finally got the site to work. Price for the SJ went up $93/pp. I suppose that if I could get the OBC I'd still be coming out on top, but I'm not sure if it's something that they'll allow to happen, without canceling and rebooking. FUN33 Posted November 10, 2015 #82 Share Posted November 10, 2015 This new "sale" is just another scam. Cannot be combined with C&A discounts. So you EITHER can take your C&A discount OR receive the OBC that is advertised with the "sale". In reality they have just INCREASED the price of all their cruises over what you could have purchased them for yesterday.

The same nonsense that's been going on since 5/1/14 As long as people are suckered into it and think they're saving money it'll continue. The only real sale was the first couple of weeks when this all began. Then they got wise to it and the prices skyrocketed overnight and have remained ever since. dutchclogs Posted November 10, 2015 #84 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Find the cabin that's open on the German TA site, then plug in this cabin in the check availability area of change your cabin. Thank you, I'll try this. I did find out from another TA site that the pricing went up over $100 pp and is now just under $300 more pp than I paid for a guarantee. Plus can't combine with C & A discount.....
familycruzer Posted November 10, 2015 #85 Share Posted November 10, 2015 The 30% was part scam too because my C&A discount only brought me down $160 less than my husband. Not really the $225 I should be getting. They took off the $225 then the 30%

On RCI home page under "terms and conditions" it states the new sale IS combinable with C&A discounts. My TA is on the phone with now. Our cabin only went up $25, so the $300 OBC is good for us. AndyT3 Posted November 10, 2015 #88 Share Posted November 10, 2015 So, after calling the regular old customer service number, and being told there was nothing that could be done, I had to call Crown and Anchor to get anywhere. After speaking to the C&A rep, I confirmed the total for my SJ had increased by $186. However, I would be picking up the $300 OBC, and therefore still coming out $114 ahead of the game (with the OBC). I'll take it.
Life is Good Cruising Posted November 10, 2015 #89 Share Posted November 10, 2015 One of the best comments I read recently concerning about the BOGO sale was that it's another shell game. The best time to book is when the new itineraries come out, if you can't book early, book the cabin you'll be happy with and just keep checking prices for price drops. If prices drop after final payment, you may be able to upgrade, provided there are available cabins in the next category.
LuCruise Posted November 11, 2015 #90 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Our cruise went up again compared to yesterday (pre bogo). Glad we booked last December when prices were a lot lower.
cincicruisers Posted November 11, 2015 #91 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Both of my cruises have gone up from what they were yesterday. Neither come out cheaper than what I booked when they came out. I still think that is the best route for savings, booking as soon as they are released. Retired LEO Posted November 11, 2015 #92 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Has anyone called to see if they'll knock off the balcony discount in lieu of the OBC? If they would do that I can come out ahead on 5 of my bookings.
gibbycat Posted November 11, 2015 #93 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I saved a couple hundred dollars with this sale. I paid exactly $101 to upgrade from an interior to a balcony including taxes and fees, and I gained prepaid gratuities and $150 extra in OBC. molly361 Posted November 11, 2015 #94 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Has anyone been successful in getting the military OBC offered in the month of November AND the current OBC offer? The website says right on the top on the new sale that the military OBC IS combinable with the current offer but when I do any bookings it is only giving me the $200, not the additional $

NOSaints1 Posted November 11, 2015 #96 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I paid around 1900 CDN for my 8 day Adventure out of San Juan, next October, plus we prepaid our gratuitys so around 2100 with this new sail just over 400 we would pay more. later Posted November 11, 2015 #97 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I just checked pricing for a back to back harmony cruise in January 2017 that I was planning on booking onboard in 2 weeks. I was looking at CLs and if book as a diamond plus member the price has gone up $300 with no OBC. When I book without the C&A number the price goes up $600 with $300 OBC. No deal here in fact as you look at it they are getting $300 more in both cases. How would they handle booking on board? I assume you would not get the $300 OBC but just the $200 OBC. ken_nyc Posted November 11, 2015 #98 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Finally I was able to get on the Royal Caribbean site and check on pricing for our upcoming Harmony cruise in June and boy was I in shock to see it was $1,286 MORE than what we are getting it for. I know that there is now a $300 OBC being offered for the same cabin, but we are getting $100 to spend on anything PLUS $150 for shore excursions. AndyT3 Posted November 11, 2015 #99 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I guess it just all depends on the specific sailing, and when you booked. For me, it worked out in my favor. However, it seems the majority have found it to be a rather large increase in fare.
Retired LEO Posted November 11, 2015 #100 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Yes you can pick either your balcony discount OR the OBC Thanks. I was able to save $395.00 on 5 of my cruises. A small amount but only had to spend 5 minutes on the phone. :)
