batt01 Posted November 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2015 Our family enjoys "cocktail hour" around 5:30 with a glass of wine and cheese/crackers/nuts etc. Nothing extravagant. Will there be a lounge open with hors d'ouevres available (more than snack mix) on the first evening before dinner? Is room service available the first evening (we could order a cheese plate or two and have the wine we bring on board). Thanks

Thanks If you have a Grand Suite or better, then the Concierge/Suite lounge will be available to you from about 5pm to 8:30pm. Same thing in the Diamond Lounge if you are Diamond level or higher in C&A. If none of those apply to you, then contact room service after muster. spookwife Posted November 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2015 Only the two lounges for suites and/or Diamond and up crown and anchor members have hors d'ouerves No other bar or lounge serves anything although Vintages MIGHT serve something
BND Posted November 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) The CL has always been open for us on first night, I cant speak for other lounges The CL and DL are both open on first night, but that wasn't OP's question. You can order from room service if you want a cheese plate or something similar. But, the bars don't really have anything. We've had a nut mix a few times in the Viking Crown, particularly on EX, but we haven't seen it on every ship we've been on. But, we are usually in the DL for drinks and hors d'ouerves. Bob, did you ever see the video of the guys on Carnival that ordered everything on the room service menu at one time.

copi2boys Posted November 26, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 26, 2015 We enjoy a nigtly cocktail hour on our balcony. We enjoy our wine we brought on board and when that's gone stop at a bar on the way to the room. Order 2 plates from room service, more than enough for us and friends. goneclear Posted November 26, 2015 #10 Share Posted November 26, 2015 They use to have very nice hors d'ouveres in the champagne bar on evenings. Our last cruise was a five day on Liberty and when we asked about it , the bar attendant said they no longer offer the. He said they still may on allure and oasis but it was cut out as part of the cost cutting. He even brought to our attention the napkins for your drinks were no longer printed with RCL
