Paulal Posted November 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2015 Hi, I am new to Princess and I was wondering if you can wear shorts to Horizon Court buffet or Alfredo's in the evening. Thanks in advance.

fishywood Posted November 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) Yes you will be fine in shorts in either area. The evenings dress code of Smart Casual or Formal only applies to the Main Dining Rooms, though you are requested to wear Smart Casual all nights at the specialty restaurants (Sabatini's or Crown Grill). On Princess Smart Casual does specify no shorts, but again the casual dining alternatives such as Alfredo's are all come-as-you-are. Paulal Posted November 30, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted November 30, 2015 Thanks for your responses. Sometimes after a day of touring or a day at the beach, we do not want a sit down dinner nor do we we want to dress up. All we want is an informal quick dinner. sunsetbeachgal Posted November 30, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2015 For the reasons you are describing we also eat dinner at the Horizon Court or Alfredos several times each cruise. Also, there are evenings we don't feel like having a long dinner and to serve ourselves, and to not have to worry about waiting for a table if we want to eat at 6:30 or 7. Shorts will be just fine!! Sometimes after a day of touring or a day at the beach, we do not want a sit down dinner nor do we we want to dress up. All we want is an informal quick dinner. We noticed that the restaurants were very quiet on Port days, waiter and Head Waiter said that's the norm now.

ccruisequeen Posted December 2, 2015 #12 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Also at the International Cafe if your ship has one. Easy to order a quick sandwich or salad and eat in the atrium or back in your cabin. My Cruise Countdown | I'm sailing to Mexico on 01/11/2016 aboard the Carnival Inspiration! Visit Carnival.com to see all Mexico cruises. I still cruise for Warm Chocolate Melting Cake (with 2 sugar free ice creams), lobster, and Creme brulee! nanwel Posted December 3, 2015 #13 Share Posted December 3, 2015 The only problem I would find would be the darn Air Conditioning - set very high - especially at night - I wore capri's for that reason.

Interesting comment and I have started sensing the same thing. Pax are tired and don't want to dress up for dinner. Therefore the HC is somewhat crowded.
