wine - corkage fee?

Does Celebrity have a corkage fee for bottles of wine brought into the dining room from home? How much if so? Thanks.

I am pretty sure it's $25. That's what I seem to remember. I do remember it was absurd whatever it was. I brought wine on board and a corkscrew and brought an open bottle in and no one said a word

Corkage is $25 and is generally charged when you bring the bottle to a public venue. If you enjoy the bottle in your room, there is no corkage charged.

Just remember that Celebrity will be different from Princess in that you can only bring two bottles, regardless of corkage.

We keep hoping that Celebrity will follow Royal Caribbean's lead and eliminate the corkage fee. A $25 fee is pretty steep IMO.

It's very steep now especially with our Canadian dollar value. $25 U.S. would be over $30 Cdn.

We usually open an pour the wine into glasses in our cabin and just carry the wine glasses to dinner. You'll have to use whatever glasses your steward brings . It's only a problem if they bring red wine glasses and you're drinking white...if that sort of thing actually bothers anyone. :-)

No kidding! Our exchange rate is sitting over 1.42 right now. I for one will be bringing on two bottles of wine from home and enjoying on my verandah, can't afford to purchase in the MDR or any of the bars. Corkage would be $36.00 CDN per bottle. Ridiculous.

Celebrity reduce a money grab? That would be a decrease in the "bottom line" and that can't happen under any circumstance.

 

Instead, Celebrity just tries to find ways to increase the bottom line even if it's a nickle and dime type operation, re: the stoppage of providing daily bottled water to AQ cabins.
