RCCL pricing...am I missing something!

Recommended Posts

My wife and I just put an on-line booking hold on the Australian RCL site.

We are both C&A Diamond+ members and entered our C&A member nos onto the site.

We then did another booking hold without our C&A nos.

Both bookings have been confirmed for 24 hrs.

What surprised us was the fact that, although the second booking (without our membership nos) was 270AUD (about 190USD) dearer than the one with our C&A nos, we were entitled to 300USD as OBC, which we were not given with the first!

We would like to book the second option (the one with the OBC) but are concerned that our membership may not be recognised for our D+ benefits.

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

MP.

Book the second option, then call Royal and have them make sure your C&A numbers are on the booking and the price/OBC does not change.

To reemphasize what Bob said. You can "pass up" your C&A discount in favo(u)r of a better price, AND still get your on-board benefits (eg free Happy Hour drinks, etc). Just get your price first, and then later give them your C&A number, emphasizing that you do NOT want to be repriced. Shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks to all for your helpful replies.

We are still wondering why RCCL will not recognise C&A membership as a financial reward to its members, when they, in fact, will not allow members to not have a price reduction together with an OBC,

I understand their policy of not allowing extra RCL OBC's but a price discount is not an OBC!

Anyhow, thanks again to everyone who replied.

We'll see how we go!
