Is Hasbro the game show still a thing?

Hasbro was the main (only) show on the Glory for two nights out of seven in September. And one night on the Paradise last weekend.

Edited to add: We hate that show, so it contributed to the amount of time we spent in the casino on the Glory. That resulted in a casino bounce back offer and we paid only port fees/taxes for the Paradise. So, I guess we owe Hasbro a big thank you.

I don't get it. What is it about? I saw that it was going on in the Fun Times, so I went to the venue, stuck my head in the door to see what it was.

All I saw was a large screen, and there were people playing a game on the screen. It was as if the entire audience was sitting there watching Price is Right or Beat the Clock on a big screen TV.

To me, this looks like Carnival using its passengers as entertainment again.

Am I missing something ?

I think you've got the gist of it, at least from my understanding. I think they pick people from the audience to compete to play games.

While it may not be entertaining for some people, I like that kind of thing. I think it's funny to watch fellow passengers who really get into it.

Although I was a bit disappointed to learn the Breeze didn't have a Broadway show like the NCL ship I went on last, the Hasbro game show seems more appealing to me than the other entertainment Carnival offers. Guess I will see in a few days if I like it or not!

It was one of the few events we went to as a family on the Glory. Our son was chosen to participate on the second night. He enjoyed it and got a small prize. Don't think I would go again but fun for the first time.

The Hasbro show was the main entertainment for one night in our recent 8-day on the Sunshine. My younger kids really enjoyed watching it and especially the enthusiastic family of the winner. I found it vaguely entertaining and somehow expected a more elaborate set for the games. It's fine for one night on a ship that has other evening entertainment options.

Good to hear it still exists! It sounds like it would be enjoyable to watch.

Actually, it's no where near as entertaining as it sounds. I was going to say it's pretty awful. But in fairness, little kids probably enjoy it. But not adults.

And this coming from someone who has always been a fan of board games.

I second this.

Sad and pathetic it is still offered as the only evening entertainment on many ships including the Glory in October.

If we were 10 would be a lot of fun but for adults? As far as I can tell these games have no skill involved at all.

Once upon a time they offered us professional entertainment and now they have sunk rather low.

Luckily for us the Glory had a super PBE.

The Hasbro show is the most boring thing at sea. Unless you or your child is picked to play, that makes it way more interesting. We skipped it after watching about 5 minutes of it.

Not interested.

If one of JH's beards ever tried to take attendance at one of these evening shows would know that their passengers are voting with their feet to miss it.

Than again they might tell us down the road that production shows are not of interest to todays passengers so better to have a smaller lounge and room for more guests.

My only gripe with Carnival is the entertainment. Has been a disaster for years. I keep telling myself that I should accept it because if I want better entertainment I will need to kick out another $20+/night per person. When I am ready to do that I will go to RCCL or NCL.

We only had it once on our Miracle sailing in October, and it was in the afternoon.

I thought it was a great sea day activity for families, but I don't think it would really do well as the main entertainment for the evening. It was kind of one of those "hey, this could be kinda fun, and we aren't doing anything else" things. On the same level as trivia, weird contests on Lido, etc.

That said, my DD6 did win the whole shebang, so that was kind of cool. She became a bit of a celebrity and would get recognized by the staff and other passengers. So that may have colored my perception a bit. It was a fun diversion on a lazy sea day, but that's about it.

For those interested, the Grand Prize is a bunch of travel-sized Hasbro games and a $150 gift card to Hasbro.com.

We have now been on two Princess cruises of 14 and recently 15 days.

Entertainment surprisingly enough was better on Carnival.

That's basically were I'm at right now - IMHO the entertainment is pathetic. I personally like many things about Carnival, but until they change the entertainment, I will stay away.

There was 2 nights of it on my Fantasy sailing last week Part 1 and Part 2. I didn't attend either as my GF and I are more into the Casino and Comedy Club for Nightlife so I can't speak upon how it was, but I'd imagine it's good for families.

We watched it once on the breeze, wasn't all that impressed. If you're playing it could be fun, but to sit and watch other people play, we left after 10 minutes. Not planning on going this time.

I think it could be a fun activity if it was opened up to more people, not do it as a show. Like have different teams and you can run a few different games at once so more people get to play.
