Where to Buy wine?

Hi Folks, I am currently scheduled for a TA leaving from Fort Lauderdale, will be arriving the same day of departure on Sunday April 10 . We are planning to take a cab from the airport to the port, where can I stop to purchase wine? Thanks for any help. Leslie

The easiest thing is to stop at any Publix market - they generally have a good selection and they are everywhere.

Total wine is near the port--there is also a Publix. Have the cab take you there on your way. Yes, it is a little out of the way, but close.

If I remember correctly, once you have done the check in, on the way to the ship, there are some shops and one of them sells wine.

No, there are no shops in the cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale, AFAIK. There may have been some at one time, but no more.

Publix is hit or miss on wines, at least mine is. However, there is a plaza that has both Total Wine and Publix together. It is called the Harbor Shops and is east of US1, just south of 17th street.

Warning!!! When at Total Wine beware of how much you plan to bring on board, as my cart tends to have wines jump in by the case! ;)

You can pre-order your wine at the Total Wine web site; your purchase will be waiting for you, making it a quick stop while your cab meter is running.

Of course but probably not her favorite wine and for sure it is a heck of a lot more than what she would pay on land. They allow you to bring on 2 bottles per stateroom, if you are a wine drinker you are just throwing money away if you don't bring them on. It is only 8 glasses and she is on a TA so that's a long cruise, she'll be buying plenty on board I am sure.

Be advised there are restrictions on when alcohol can be sold on Sundays in Florida. If I remember correctly it's only sold after 12:00 PM on Sundays.

That law varies from city to city. I don't know about Fort Lauderdale.

It's only in Broward County, which is where fort Lauderdale is.
