Just got the following survey:

"We hope you enjoyed your recent sailing with us. We are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience in our Casinos and would welcome your feedback. Please follow the link below to fill out a quick survey."

It basically was a survey from Princess about their casino's and the underlying theme seemed to have to do with smoking.

I filled it out and stated I hope they put a stop to smoking in the casino's! :)

Thank you for your comment to Princess! I wish they'd forbid smoking on the entire ship; my last cruise was marred by a smoker on their balcony (but we couldn't figure out which one). Several times a day, for the whole cruise, we had to tolerate the stink of cigarette smoke on our balcony. The housekeeping people said they couldn't find the offender.

If they would at least stop it in the casino, they would likely make more money there since the nonsmokers could participate more than just once or twice a week.

We were recently on Island Princess. Smokers in the casino chased us off many times. The Smoking Section was confined to a back corner area, but smoke drifts.

We also completed Princess' casino survey and voiced our preference that it be a non-smoking area of the ship.

I just took the same survey and in no way did I see an underlying theme of smoking. In fact, out of all the screens, there was exactly one question that asked if you thought the casino was too smokey. What I found way more interesting was their asking which perks you would like to see for casino players. You had to pick your 3 favorites and 3 least favorites. My least favorites were benefits we already get from being elite such as priority boarding and Internet minutes.

If they would do something about the smokers that come into the casino just to smoke would help the smoking problem a lot. It really bugs me to be setting at a machine and have some one come and stand by me just to smoke.

I am an ex smoker and even when I did smoke the casino was just too much with the smoke. A lot of people use the casino so they don't have to go up to the pool area or the outside decks that allow smoking. Another thing I thought was totally stupid was to have the "non-smoking" nights on regular nights but smoking allowed on formal nights! Bad enough your regular clothes smell but to have your lovely gown or tux smell is not too nice either. Maybe they do that as they think they might get more dry cleaning money lol.

Most casinos on the ships we've been on seems to have two thirds or more of the casino being smoke free. If you don't like the smoke don't sit in the smoking section. I do know smoke travels, maybe the suggestion to Princess should be "Can you please fix the ventilation system to remove cigarette smoke more efficiently" just saying.

That's interesting - we were on the Royal Princess, 9/2015 transatlantic and the formal nights were non-smoking casino nights! I know because I am a smoker...Personally I think Princess is very tight on smoking as it is - I have to go to the "leper" colony on the back of the ship to smoke if outdoors. I don't smoke on my balcony although I do smell people doing so - but there is a larger non-smoking area in the casino than there is a smoking area. This has been my experience on Princess and Carnival...

Also just received and filled out the survey. Just off Emerald. The large non-smoking section and the fact that no one smokes at the tables made that a non-issue for me. MY strong suggestion was a more robust CRM system that links players across all the Carnival lines. I feel like I am starting fresh to earn perks of play with every cruise. I now get casino rate and got a letter offering a free interior cabin BUT wouldn't it be great to get acknowledgment and perks based on cumulative play?

I am new to Princess. But seems they are Very behind the times with Casino perks (as I've started a couple threads in Casino catergory)

NCL is very good with casino perks, and yes, cumulative play.

If you are a casino player? It appears certain cruise lines are much Better to casino players, than others. NCL great. Princess, Not.

NCL has the same smoke issue in the casinos as Princess.....smokers who aren't playing, but smoking in there anyway.

Very annoying & definately increases the amount of smoke Inside.

I HOPE your Surveys help! Especially if Princess decreases or eliminates the smoke. Wish they all would!
