susancruzs Posted April 4, 2016 #26 Share Posted April 4, 2016 Thanks so much for the wonderful review! Now I'm even more excited about sailing on the Regal soon, April 17th for 25 days! Woohoo! :) :D
Bustersmom Posted April 4, 2016 #27 Share Posted April 4, 2016 I have emerged from my usual "stalking" position to thank you for an excellent review! I have so often thought that I would love to cruise just as you describe ( I am at best an anytime diner) and your review just made me think how easy and casual and yet good your cruise was! I love my food for sure, BUT! I do not cruise to eat and anytime I do not have to shop it, bring it home, put it away, then take it out and plan and cook a meal, well just give me a PB& J that someone else made and I am a happy camper!! Many thanks for an awesome "new" look!
pris993 Posted April 9, 2016 #28 Share Posted April 9, 2016 wonder if the themes for the buffet are listed in the Patter?
Rare erber Posted April 9, 2016 #29 Share Posted April 9, 2016 If you look at the back page of the Patter, the buffet themes are listed and also it will state the times of the themed buffets. It was very helpful in our planning our meals. We, too, ate many of our meals in the buffet. It was really a spectacular choice of salads, entrees, etc. I would go on another cruise on the Royal class ships in a heartbeat.

shredie Posted April 12, 2016 #32 Share Posted April 12, 2016 Everyone raves so about the buffet on the Regal. I guess I'll finally get my chance to try it next year since we booked for Sept. 2017. Thanks for the pics.

joeyancho Posted April 13, 2016 #34 Share Posted April 13, 2016 Thanks for the great review. I loved all the food porn. I gained two pounds looking at it. I have only gone to the buffet once for dinner out of 35 cruises, so it was great to see what they serve. We cruise in 3 days, maybe we will try the buffet for dinner. arizonaperson Posted September 8, 2016 #35 Share Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) Wdblake- Thank you so much for your review of the Regal and the great photos. I see you mentioned in your post that in order for the room lights to work you have to have your key card or some sort of card in the slot. I thought I had read that you no longer need a card in the slot to work the lights.just trying to see if I should bring an old card or something to put in that slot . I don't always like to have my room key card out , I usually put it away. Has this been a problem for anybody ? I have not been on a Princess ship where this has been implemented ,so don't know if it's gonna be more of a hassle or am I overthinking .thanks . Julie Just fold up a piece of the Princess note paper that is on the desk. Anything that clicks the switch at the bottom of the slot will work. We never once used our key card. Julie Not true, you still need something in the slot. ;) Best to use your room key that way you grab it on the way out. We like to have a lanyard hanging from it all the time. Helps keep track of it

If the person who's card would have been in the slot and left with it it would have left the other person in the dark after about two minutes. :(

pris993 Posted September 9, 2016 #41 Share Posted September 9, 2016 like your approach to cruising... doing it your way... we do the same. We are going on the Royal for a 15 day TA in 2017, we may get off the ship in some Spanish ports, have been to Spain many times... so depends. We do some shows but shows are not a big deal. We have cruised on some lines, where we skipped the MDR the entire cruise. We enjoy the Crown Grill may split nights between the buffet and Crown Grill... we love dressing every night for dinner so have no problem with formal nights... we just find that we enjoy our time aboard doing what we enjoy the most...so are not locked in to doing anything ... love spending time in our cabin, always book a mini suite. We do breakfast in the cabin, sometimes bring back lunch from the buffet to enjoy in the cabin and on the balcony if possible. Will check out the movies on board... on demand. We like to buy wine (and some liquor if possible in ports) along the way. Gilbrater is a great shopping port on a TA... Happy cruising your way. Lucky TGO Posted September 9, 2016 #42 Share Posted September 9, 2016 "We were asked if we wanted to share which I thought was odd." What's odd about that? They always ask that:rolleyes: and anyway the vast majority do want to share. You never share any of your beer with your pool pal. hahaha :D :D Tony
