Rare cruisestitch Posted April 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) Now that there are so many programs in placing giving non-refundable OBC, and we can no longer take this out of the casino in cash, I have come up with this list of things to spend OBC on, since we see so many questions about this on Cruise Critic: I'll make the list alphabetical, so it will be easy to add any items I have forgotten. Acupuncture Airport transfers Apple products and Ilounge classes Art Auctions Beverages -- Alcoholic, soft drinks, specialty coffees and teas, bottled water Bingo Bottles of wine Casino Duty free liquor and cigarettes Fitness classes Flowers Gelato Gift shop Gratuities Hair and nail salon Internet Laundry/pressing/drycleaning Luggage Valet Medical Center Mini bar Shore Excursions Pay-per-view movies Photos & cameras Room service up charge items Shore Excursions Shuttle to town (some ports) Spa -- massages and treatments Specialty restaurants Teeth Whitening Voyage in Review DVD Wine and liquor tastings Zumba Edited April 19, 2016 by cruisestitch

Do we have to wait until we board to reserve shore excursions and specialty dining? I tried to reserve shore excursions, but they wanted a credit card. I was wondering because I thought if I waited until we got on the ship, the shore excursions I wanted may be sold out. Has anyone used their OBC to do this before they boarded? Book before boarding and pay in advance via credit card. Book on board and you can use the OBC but only if they have unsold seats left. It's the same with upgrading the liquor package except they won't run out of availabiltiy. Edited April 19, 2016 by ChucktownSteve
Island2Girl Posted April 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2016 If you are on an S class ship, you can reserve an Alcove if there are any available!

Project_gal Posted April 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2016 If you stop at Labadee, you can book a cabana. I knowthe Nellie's Beach cabanas are offered as shore excursions but Bare Foot Beach [for suite guests] are not and can only be booked on board through the Destinations Concierge. K.T.B. Posted April 20, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 20, 2016 One good thing about booking a specialty restaurant on board with your OBC, there's always a small chance of a discounted price too! :) My OBC on the next cruise will be going towards upgrading the drink package and Qsine. Whatever is remaining will probably be going towards an internet package as well.

cb at sea Posted September 23, 2016 #13 Share Posted September 23, 2016 ANYTHING you buy onboard will go towards any obc...You can't specify WHAT you want to use it on....it's merely a CREDIT against any CHARGES!
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 23, 2016 Author #14 Share Posted September 23, 2016 While there may be some other thing for which you can't use OBC, it cannot be used on board to make a deposit on a Future Cruise.
