Refund held hostage/casino cash-out?

Long story short, carnival is holding a $300 refund hostage and the only way they will give it to me is to book more excursions or pay balance on my upcoming cruise (already all booked, and cruise is paid) or apply it as obc, (still not clear if it's refundable and if so, don't know if I trust them). I already have $400 in obc and certainly don't need more.

So I've heard you can cash out obc in the casino. This seems to be my best option, but I have never gambled and don't understand how it works, could someone tell me in detail what I do, or who I go see to get it applied to casino and then how to cash that out? Or can I pull obc from the kiosk or guest services?

I just had another idea...I pre-paid tips, could I cancel that and get that put back on my card? Then I could let auto tips take that extra obc. (4 people on a 10 day cruise will be more than that)

Go to the Casino, put your S&S card into a slot machine. Transfer the money into the machine. Spin once, transfer the money to your Player Bank, walk to the cashier and withdraw the money.

Go to the Casino, put your S&S card into a slot machine. Transfer the money into the machine. Spin once, transfer the money to your Player Bank, walk to the cashier and withdraw the money.

To set up your account on a slot machine, press the button that says "change pin" and follow the instructions. This is where you you set up your pin #.

It is very simple to get money from the slot machines. Press the green button that says "Charge Your Sail & Sign". The machine will then ask you how much to transfer to you account. Press in your 4 digit pin. After the money is uploaded to the machine (it will show up as credits), press the red button "Cash Out To Your Players Bank", input your pin # and get the money back on your card. This sounds more complicated than it is, but it is really easy.

From there, go to the cashier and cash out your S&S card (you can take out some or all of the money on the card).

Do not go to the tables to get money as you will be charged a 3% fee.

Go to a penny slot machine. there are a few where you can play 1 or 2 credits per line ($0.09, $0.18). These are the the old school machines with wheels and not a computer screen. Play a few spins and then take out your money. If you just put money in, then take it immediately out and do this at a few machines, the main casino computer will block you from playing the machines.

Here is a picture of the buttons for using your S&S card in the slots. The instructions are below the buttons. http://i1017.photobucket.com/albums/af297/klutz13/Carnival/Slotmachinebuttons.jpg[/img]"]Slotmachinebuttons.jpg

You don't need to play at all. I've just transferred the money, then cashed out.

My sister and I each had a $500 Carnival gift card we bought from AARP/VERIZON ( bought one from each place) that we put on our account when we boarded the Freedom in February. We were told that we would get any remaining balance refunded in the form of another Carnival gift card. The third to last night we went to the casino, placed our sign and sail card in the slot, set up an account. We then transferred the money to it, spinned once, both won about $20_25 each, cashed it out to our card, went to the window and got cash back. And was lucky enough no to be charged the 3% service fee.

Because you spun at least once... If you do not spin at least once is when the 3% can occur.
