bjd2 Posted May 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2016 We were on the Pride 8 night to Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk. It was the bumpiest ride out of our 8 cruises but we had a great time! I will get to uploading some photos, and I did manage to get all of the Funtimes home so will upload those at some point as well. We had an aft balcony, 4230, and were connected to the Vista suite 4228 next door. These were beautiful accommodations! There was quite a bit of vibration and we put a hand towel in the bathroom door at night to reduce room rattling. Our seas were pretty rocky the first couple of days and some in our group were sick. There were bags by the elevators and the dining room was pretty empty for breakfast our first morning. Glasses slid across our table and our daughter had to leave and she was sick most of that day. It was her 25th birthday so we had several birthday re-dos over the week. Me and DH are both 46, and this was my sister's first cruise. She and a friend came along as well as another great friend who we met on a cruise in 2012, and she had graciously invited our daughter to share the Vista suite. Other than the bumpy ride, we found the ship clean and beautiful. We really enjoyed the staff in all areas. Our room steward was Randy, and he was especially outstanding. He serviced our rooms twice a day and I found the new card on day 3, lol, so never chose morning or evening service. I asked for ice once and then it was there every day. We had Cheers and it was great. We had coffee, vitamin water, milkshakes, beverages to our hearts content. We never reached the limit but I know we were close on a couple of sea days. I love the all inclusive feeling. Food was excellent in the MDR every night that we were there. We ate in the Steakhouse one night and the food and service were great there as well. My daughter and friend did the Chef's Table one night as a birthday surprise and my daughter is still raving at that experience. We did that menu last year so are looking forward to it again once it changes. I had to visit the medical center on the last day as I had symptoms of a bladder infection/UTI and they gave me some medication to get me home and didn't charge me anything. They were great. This is the first time I've had to go to A deck and it was a little scary but turned out to be a great experience. We had the Oasis at Half Moon Cay and OMG, that was AMAZING!!! I feel so lucky that we were able to get that. The personal chefs and bar and all staff there were so attentive and caring. We also had massages on the island and they were excellent. Nassau we went to the Breezes resort and it was nice but very overrun by spring breaking youngsters. Grand Turk was nice, we had a Cabana but decided after just a few hours to enjoy the free food/drinks on the ship rather than pay high prices for the same on the island. We have been here several times so that wasn't a hard choice to make. I will work on some pictures as soon as I can but am happy to answer any questions. We had a great cruise but can't wait to go out of Miami on the Vista in April in a Havana Cabana cabin.
pusywillow Posted May 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2016 I am sailing on the Pride for the first time in September. I'd read that the vibrations are bad at the aft of the ship so I booked mid ship.
bakersdozen12 Posted May 1, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Thanks for the quick review! I will be going on this same itinerary on the Conquest in a couple months. I would love to see some of your pictures from the ports. :)

Not sure if we would have slept better mid ship on this cruise, since even at the casino bar we had to hold onto the bar as we were rolling so much :-) The one thing I know is that we didn't sleep as well as we did on previous cruises due to the motion/vibration. volfan22701 Posted May 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2016 We are getting ready fot our 4th cruise on the pride from Baltimore. The first 2 were smooth headed south and really rough headed back. The 3rd was rough out and smooth back. Hoping this one in july is smooth both ways.

Rare rafinmd Posted May 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Any idea why the Pride arrived so early today. I think it is normally scheduled for close to 9AM, not before 7. Roy
cruzn buckeye Posted May 1, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 1, 2016 looking forward to your pics! I have done Breezes twice in Nassau. Thinking of doing it again in Sept. But it has been awhile since I did this so I was hoping you could answer a couple of questions for me. How much is it now for a day pass? Is that what you did or did you get a room? Also, if it was a day pass, I have been told that you may get there and they may be gone.. what time did you get there? What transportation did you use.. i used the number 10 jitney twice... but thinking a cab may be better? Do you know how much cabs are? And is it easy to get transportation back to the ship? How was the beach??Rocks... seaweed? I know i know... sorry for all the questions:DI am taking my 25 year old granddaughter with me and want to make this trip very special... it is her second cruise.. the first was with her mom, sister, and me when she was ten years old and her sister was nine:p So basically anything you can tell me about your day there and to and from would be awesome!:D:D:D thanks!:)

We got to the end of the pier and indicated we wanted a ride to Breezes. We (4 of us) were quickly directed to a van and off we went. They charged 22 dollars I think. We had reserved our passes through resortforaday dot com. We paid 20 down and then 65 when we arrived. We got there around 11. They gave us wristbands and told us that we were welcome to use any of the facilities and participate in any activities that were going on. The beach was pretty full of seaweed and they had workers down there the entire time raking and burying it. It looked like an endless task. Hubby and DD did swim though and had a great time. I wasn't feeling really well that day so didn't go in the water and spent most of my time in the shade. The pools to me appeared pretty full of debris, but there are many plants/trees around the pools so likely inevitable for there to be some in there. They have a grill by the pool with a pretty large selection of foods like hot dogs, burgers, jerk chicken, conch fritters, salads etc. I took a plate of jerk chicken and asked hubby to watch it while I ran to the rest room. He turned his back for 5 seconds and about 10 gulls swooped on it and cleaned the plate, lol. The one bite I had was very good but very spicy so I went back and got something else. At 12:30 they opened a very large buffet inside in the beautiful dining room. I hope you have a great time!
cruzn buckeye Posted May 1, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Thank you :) One time when i was there, there were also lots of seagulls.. dummy me decided to feed them... tossed a little something on the ground, and they came flocking... we thought it was cool at the time:D Employees came up to us immediately, and said no, no... do not feed them ... then i understood, there were so many of them!:D

Tootles17 Posted May 1, 2016 #14 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Great Review, Thanks for sharing! DH and I are booked on the Pride for June and can't wait! So glad to hear the chef's table was a great experience, we are doing that as well. We just got back from a 5 day on the Ecstasy and that was quite a bumpy ride as well, hoping our June cruise will be a little smoother as we are taking our 2 boys on their first cruise! doublek2 Posted May 1, 2016 #16 Share Posted May 1, 2016 Any idea why the Pride arrived so early today. I think it is normally scheduled for close to 9AM, not before 7. Roy I just came back today. We got in port early because we had 2 sea days on the return trip instead of the usual one sea day. We sailed the whole trip back at about 12 knots (Very slow!) The captain mentioned last night at the past guest party something about loading some extra items onto the ship while in port. Debarkation was not affected and we still had to wait until 9:00AM to start the process.

Crusin Karen Posted May 2, 2016 #19 Share Posted May 2, 2016 LOVE the Pride. Took us a long time to finally sail her. She was the only spirit class we had not sailed. When CCL decided to discontinue the cruises in the winter and spring from our Manhattan homeport, we were "forced" to drive to Baltimore and sail the Pride. Sure glad we did! We now have 4 weeks on her and hope to sail her again someday. Thanks for the review.

DKane Posted May 2, 2016 #21 Share Posted May 2, 2016 Love the Pride. Sailed on her six times - love the layout and the people. Trying the Splendor next - we got tired of the same intinerary on the Pride and needed to mix it up a bit.

jocko4279 Posted May 3, 2016 #23 Share Posted May 3, 2016 nice pics! loved the pride, did it last year, going back again in July. The Spirit class ships are the perfect cruise ships. To me they are the zenith of cruise ship design, anything after is pretty much over the top!
bjd2 Posted May 4, 2016 Author #24 Share Posted May 4, 2016 The dining room was really pretty View from our balcony Bonsai Sushi is located right in the lobby. We had to walk past every time we went to our room. I think we took some back with us at least 4 nights. Very good food worth the small charge. We have never decorated our door before but we did this time. We didn't win the competition but my sister's door coming up got honorable mention and a ship on a stick! This was my sister's door. She put a lot of work into little flip boards with pictures and information about special places that she enjoys with friends and family
bjd2 Posted May 4, 2016 Author #25 Share Posted May 4, 2016 I loved this area on the Legend and thought it is really pretty on the Pride too We went to Breeze's in Nassau. It was pretty and we had a nice time despite the spring breakers with their blow up dolls One of the most beautiful sunrises At Half Moon Cay we had the Grand Oasis. This was really great. The slide into the water was broken though so we didn't get to try that. A few of us had massages on the island and really enjoyed our day in paradise.
