Shorts in MDR?

So tell Mr. expert, where did I ever say I want to wear shorts in the MDR and not respect the rules? I have never worn or tried to wear shorts in the MDR.

Your problem is you come across as one of the self-righteous judgemental experts on this forum who don't bother to read what others post.

You pretty much say plenty of people wear shorts in fine rest.in Seattle. It kind of gives the opinion that you feel dress like that is fine in the MDR at night. When Celebrity changes the code to even more formal, then fine. Until that point people need to follow established rules of evening dress in the MDR.

I did in fact say that people wear shorts in a fine restaurant in Seattle, I didn't pretty much say it. Secondly, how does that statement give the opinion that I feel shorts are okay in the MDR? My comments were directed at you saying go eat in the buffet like you have any choice where others eat.

Hey everyone, don't have a stroke over it. Let the cruise line worry about it.

The rule for no shorts in the evening will be gone soon.

Go enjoy your vacations.

It's not anyones job here to police what others do. And no one here has any right to put down others for having opinions that differ. Do what YOU enjoy.

Relax, rule change coming soon. You won't have to stress over it anymore. I'd have paid good money to watch "the show" though.

Hi

And how do you know the rules will be changing soon or is that wishful thinking?

On my next cruise, I think I'll just sit out on my balcony, smoke my cigar, and laugh about this whole subject. If you can ignore the no shorts issue, I can ignore the smoking issue.

Second hand smoke vs second hand shorts? Ah, but only one of those can kill others - even those wearing tuxes.

Wow! How do you even enjoy your cruise if you're so busy looking at how everyone is dressed!? To go as far to report people's attire to the Maitre D is outrageous!

I and my family adhere to the proper clothing suggestions, but could care less what someone across the dining room is wearing to eat a meal.

Your statement above is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read!

Rules are rules! Obviously it's fine for people like you when others break them. I have the right to complain to those in charge if pax just ignore them. If someone is wearing swim trunks in the MDR at night in the MDR & I see it (and I have) I will say something. It's people like you who totally ignore what goes on around them(because it doesn't "affect" you)that's helped allow this world to go to pot!

We dine in the MDR, and we follow the dress code for the MDR. If others chose not to follow the dress code then that is a matter for Celebrity to enforce.

What I find most baffling is why people who don't even dine in the MDR (dining in Blu or Luminae) get their knickers in a twist over the dress code in the MDR. If your dining in Blu, Luminae, a specialist restaurant, or the buffet, how in any way is your cruise experience impacted by whether or not someone is dining in shorts in the MDR?
