Port disembarking schedule

Hello! I'm wondering details of getting off the ship in ports. When the Cruise Planner says we are in port from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, what time can we actually get off the ship? Is 9:00 when the first passengers go? Is it first come, first served or do certain guests get to disembark first?

As far as I'm aware they try to get you off Asap a number of people have said from 7 am. All the shops and facilities are closed only the windjammer for breakfast. You get a time to go off ship and you can request as early as possible if you have a plane to catch

If docked they often have the doors open to get off 20-30 minutes before the scheduled time. If tendered, sometimes RCCL excursions and others will have priority and you might not be off for 30-60 minutes after the scheduled time.

The time in the cruise planner is close enough ....getting off can happen earlier or later depending when the ship clears customs. Our experience has taught us that the ship usually clears customs earlier than later. The captain usually makes an announcement after the ship has cleared customs and that guest may now disembark.

 

If this is just a port the ship is stopping in for the day....it is usually first come first serve. Unless you have a shore excursion booked through the cruise line where they are meeting as soon as the ship docks then those guest will have priority.

 

Visited many ports, the process is usually quick except where you have to tender. In that case you have to wait until the tender loads and another one pulls up. This process may take awhile.

 

Don't forget to take photo ID with you when you are disembarking in port....you need to show it to the port agent to get back on board.

Not EVERYONE is in a huge rush to leave for the day! Some like a leisurely breakfast, and walk off when they're ready.

 

It is "walk off" when the doors open. There is no "priority" at docked stops. If you have a tendered port, generally early RCI excursions will be on the 1st tender...and if they have room, anyone in line from suites have priority. Still, tenders hold A LOT of people, so it goes quickly.

 

You will need to be back ON the ship 30 mins prior to departure time.

if you are scheduling a tour. I usually schedule 30 min after arrival time.

If is a big day and time is tight, I have the tour operator be there at arrive time and tell the gang to be off " ASAP".

Pretty sure the OP is asking about port stops and not debarkation day.

It sounds as though your asking when to get off if in a Port for Tours. If Docked, they will announce when everyone may get off. If your docked 9 to 9, you should be able to walk off within 30 minutes and be back on board no later then 8:30 PM. If your on a scheduled Ship Tour then you will have tickets and instructions where and what time to meet to be escorted off as a group. If your Tendering then those on scheduled Tours will be released first for the Tenders, others will have tickets.

Alot depends on the ports you are disembarking from. I believe you are talking about Europe stops. These are tour heavy stops and queues do start early because everyone wants to make the most of their time in these ports. For the most part, Suite guests will get escorted off the ship first. The next off the ship are typically the tour groups booked through the ship. More often than not, there are at least two gangways so the lines move quickly.

 

If doing private tours, these tours guides will likely tell you when/where to meet.

Normally early morning excursions are allowed off first. After that everyone leaves at their leisure! Not everyone leaves the ship!

Are tenders needed for any of the ports?? this can add hours to getting off the ship
