"We're doing ok!!

The Captain has so far dodged most of it, but we have 10 metre swell and a Force 11 storm to go through this afternoon.

I don't get sea sick, so I'm fine.

My 20 year old son was queasy this morning but we've medicated him and keeping him busy so he's ok now.

We always carry prescription anti nausea meds and come prepared.

Captain says we'll have nice weather by tomorrow. :)"

Well the Captain is wrong, no nice weather today on NSW South Coast, 150 mm of rain overnight, 90 km/h winds and 8 metre seas, I was just down the beach. It would be real miserable out there in Jervis Bay.

The quote I posted was from Dawn Princess and she is tucked away safely at Portside, and clear of the bad weather, so the captain was right.

It's Pacific Aria that is tucked away in Jervis Bay, getting hammered by the storm.

Stay safe and dry, Uncle Les.

Apologies, I thought Dawn Princess was at Jervis Bay. Pacific Aria is in in Jervis Bay, pity no bridgecam on Aria and Eden. They should fit some so we can get our fix !!

Hi we returned yesterday on Pacific Dawn. We were supposed to dock at Portside, instead we docked at the Grain Terminal. Although it was raining heavily we didn't have very heavy seas at all. We were looking forward to a bit of rocknroll but hardly anything.

P&O handled the last minute change very well, although a lot of people weren't happy with the wait for their luggage.

Queensland won the game, would do the State of Origin cruise again, however I don't beleive we would cruise with P&O again. Staff did not appear happy, all the venues and facilities of the ship could not cope with the number of people wanting to enjoy themselves. Drink package was very hit n miss. Some staff would let you take up 2 cards to order drinks, others wanted to see the owners of the cards before pouring drinks. Drink service was slow and they wouldn't take another order for a drink unless your last drink was empty. Booking for dinner every night was a pain and as we were travelling with a large group it was even more difficult. We had to make alternate arrangements for dinner on some nights as more than 24 hours prior Waterfront was fully booked. Setup of buffet is very poorly thought out.

Qld bar closed at midnight on night of State of Origin with some buses not even back from the game by then.

GO QUEENSLAND,,

Channel Nine is advertising a news segment on the 6pm news tonight (in 5mins if you are reading this in a different time zone) about the high seas that the Dawn Princess went through yesterday if anyone is interested.

I have complained to P&O on Facebook about that, but I don't think we will see any views from those ships any time soon.

At the moment I am working on P&O to fix the Pacific Pearl's webcam

Good luck.

I seem to remember something about the webcams being deactivated or not added or something like that, when they went from HAL to P&O.

Just returned this morning from a 3 night cruise on Pacific Aria. Took the Navy daughter who told me it is quite common for our naval vessels to ride out storms in Jervis Bay. At least she didn't have to work!

It was very calm there and despite the rain everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The casino was closed as we were too close to land.

We departed for Sydney about 11p.m last night and arrived 2 hours late this morning. We could feel the swell overnight but it wasn't too bad except for someone who fell requiring 6 stitches to their head.

Regards Elaine.
