? Diamond plus on oasis

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi, I thought I read that diamond plus does not have to make reservations except for comedy club. Does that mean I can just walk in without waiting in line? I know they have reserved seating. OR, do I still have to make reservations?

No not true.

No reservations needed if in a suite (star and sky) or Pinnacle.

And they still need to reserve comedy club, cause no preferred seating at this time unless the genies in Star have preference.

Had not heard about that perk for D+

Safe travels.

I don't know how they are doing things on Oasis, but D+ did have access to the reserved seating in the Theater and in Studio B for the Ice Show on our Liberty cruise in May. (BUT reservations are not normally needed on Liberty in the Theater.)

You should definitely make reservations for the Comedy Club as it's a relatively small venue.

It's true that all the ships smaller than Quantum class allow D+ to have access to the reserved seating in the theater, however for whatever reason they don't do that on Oasis class.

So does D+ get anything different than D on a Oasis Ship?

Unfortunately not.

Unless you consider the difference in some discounts loaded to your sea pass card for laundry and such.

Safe travels

Right. The Genie can get you a reservation for the comedy club but no preferred seating. You need to show up early even with the Genie since the venue is small.

Thanks for that info, Bob! My last cruise on Oasis class was nearly 4 years ago, and we were D at the time (and not in a suite), so I didn't know how they handled the reserved seating.

I do remember making LOTS () of reservations and I had to make myself a spreadsheet calendar for the week with all the different events on it to keep track of everything. Even going to dinner was challenging with times reserved for MTD and specialties that differed every day due to show reservations. If I hadn't had my home-made calendar, we'd have never remembered it all.

And OP...one of our favorite events on Allure was the Prohibition Party - it was great fun! I've read here on CC that they are now doing it on Oasis...just FYI.:)

Yes. D+ will get invited to behind the scenes tours, will receive one to three personalized amenities (depending on number of points), and will have a meal with an officer and upgraded bathroom amenities if they have over 340 points.

Every time on O class for us they have allowed + in the reserved seating in the theatre, ice show and At. It has said so on the sign. Maybe something changed recently

I didn't take the time to really read the signs they were holding for the reserved seating in the theaters, but they only display Star, Sky and Pinnacle card keys. I did not see anything in my D+ literature about it either. This was Allure.

So I guess it's changed with the new suite class then. Thanks

From RCI's website D+ benefits

"Priority seating at theater, ice show and AquaTheater events10

10 On select ships only. Priority Seating at Theater, ice show & AquaTheater events will be held up to ten minutes before show time. To reserve show times before you board visit RoyalCaribbean.com/PreCruisePlanner section on your local site."

While I have enjoyed these D+ benefits on Oasis & Allure in the past you can never know until you are on a ship which D+ benefits they choose to implement on your sailing. It can even change week to week. Always the ships preference. Crowd control can be a problem in events and lounges when there are unusually large crowds of D+ onboard. It is best not to expect or plan for D+ benefits then you won't be disappointed. If you are D+, not in a full suite you should make reservations for sure. Don't get caught up in too much preplanning. The past two years RCI made entertainment changes last minute which cancelled out my reservations. It was no big deal and easy to reserve on my TV in our cabin.

Oasis is bigger than Quantum which is bigger than Freedom.

So true ....about any ship and any sailing......I have returned back to RCI after a 5 year Hiatus, went on Splendour a B2B out of Venice last November, a big difference between the 2 sailings......had a D+ breakfast, no Ds, Casino promos were eliminated once Americans on board went from 200 to 500. Last month went on Explorer D, D+ breakfast.......... as many say RCI is consistently inconsistent.

My first time on Oasis is in Sept. leaving the same weekend the Allure is on the Presidents cruise, so I am guessing more high tiered clients will choose that sailing. What do u think?

Have not been out of FFL in 15 years..suggestions for getting to the port?

Transfer with the ship easy...we r landing at 11am( yes, I am one who goes in on the day, God forbid, and i am actually flying from CA;))

So as D+, will I still be able to go into CL or has that become a SL for Suite and P only?

I have traditional dining 6pm is this a good choice for my first experience on a mega ship? Seeing the shows is more important to me than the food.

Have already made my reservations for shows and seems to work well with

TD...rather than MTD which was not available when I booked. But, i guess being D+ i could get on the ship and request it and probably get MTD , would it be worth it?

There is no longer a CL. There is a suite Lounge on Deck 17 for those in a GS or higher and Pinnacles. The former CL is now the Diamond Club for Diamond, Diamond Plus and PC levels.

You can go to guest services and request MTD & pay gratuites. Then go to the MTD desk to reserve time and request table size. We did this when we wanted to use onboard credit to pay tips. If you don't reserve MTD time you can just show up when you want and get in the no reservations line. You will likely be seated in 10 - 30 minutes once you get to the front of the line. With reservations you may still wait about 15 minutes. If the traditional dining time is good for you and you want to be seated right away and sit with the same people every night and go to late or matinee entertainment you should stick with traditional dining. You need to allow a minimum of 2 hours from dining time to book entertainment reservations.

We always take a taxi from the airport or hotel in FLL to Port Everglades.

It changed on May 1...on Allure it was for white, plum, and black sea pass cards. New signs now.

A couple of times the crew didn't get the message and let in D+.

I am familiar with blue and gold colored cards. What are white, plum and black?

Thanks for the update, first time I've seen it mentioned on CC boards. Guess everybody is too excited about Harmony...I know I am.

These started 5/1/16 on Oasis and Quantum classes only as part of the new Royal Suite Class.

To whomever asked - I suggest Uber from the airport to your hotel and to port. Cheaper and usually much nicer than a taxi. If you have a lot of bags ask for Uber XL.

On the seating thing - I like the location of the reserved seating in the Aqua Theatre and in Studio B. But not for the main theatre. They're in the upper part of the main floor (not balcony) behind the sound board.

So I would just go early anyway and look for open seats where I wanted them.
