Winter cruise question

I plan on booking a cruise in late january or mid february (Navigator of the Seas). Its for a bachelor party with 5-10 guys and i was wondering how the crowds will be as i have never saied in the winter time. I was hoping there would be at least some 20-30yr old groups other than us. Can anyone with winter cruise experience shed some light on the crowd? Thanks!

It will be similar to any other time of year. Location and length of cruise play a bigger part in age demographics as longer cruises generally have older crowds as those are who generally have Noth time and money to sail longer, while shorter cruises tend towards younger ocerall. Caribbean Cruises usually skew younger overall than some European or South American cruises, etc.

You'll have plenty of people to hang out with, along with your bachelor party group. Happy sails.

The only impact time of year has on cruising demographics is with summers and holidays, which tends to have more families, and spring break, which tends to have a younger partying mix (in particular on shorter itineraries). Other than that, time of the year really has no impact on what age groups book cruises.

 

You'll find others in your age group on board with you and you will find plenty to do with your group.

Having taken most of our trips in January, I can't speak for there being "kids your age" aboard, but school will keep many of the real youngsters on shore. It's also a great time to get a great deal because it's typically not a busy season, with everyone all travelled out after the holidays. For us though, thrilled to be away from any hint of winter for a week by then.

There are rarely groups of singles in your age group on cruises...except for "spring break" or weekend cruises....

The Navigator out of Miami for the 5 night cruise would have a much better chance of groups in the age you are looking for(definitely not the 9 night since it overlaps 2 weeks). The timeframe you are looking at might not be quite as good as the last week of February or most of March though.

"Mid-February" can incorporate Presidents' Week which is a big vacation week in a good bit of the northeast at least. I'd expect more families that week. (Not that it really matters when school is in session as there are year-round schools, the explosion of home schooling, and the people who don't care about taking their kids out of school.)

It will not have more then a 5 day Carnival cruise that's for sure. Just about any short cruise(less then 6 days) during March would work better then January though and probably meet your expectations. Since you have more experience on Carnival then I do you may know if that cruise line would work for you as well. The January cruising crowd may not be what you are looking for though on Royal.

You mention "20 year olds" - assume you know you have to be 21 to drink.

You may see large groups of Brazilian tour groups that time of year. But your time period should be during a time most 5-21 year olds are in school.
