NHL Philly Fan Posted July 7, 2016 #251 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Meh. I quit smoking four years ago. Very occasionally, I'll have a cigarette when I'm drinking. If I'm going to be drinking more on vacation then it goes to reason that I'll smoke a few cigarettes. But I don't smoke in real life anymore. Then you did not quit smoking. You cut back. jeanietoo Posted July 7, 2016 #253 Share Posted July 7, 2016 How about liquor, that causes liver damage. No one forces you to be amongst smoke. They do if you're trying to enjoy your balcony while someone else is smoking above/below/next to you.
crusinpsychRN Posted July 7, 2016 #254 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I'd like to see double loyalty points for solos like RCL has. Also, reduction of the solo supplement to 150% on 1A cabins like Carnival used to have, and the addition of studio cabins (cabins designed for single occupancy). Not just 1A's, all cabins! I would get claustrophobic in a studio like those on NCL.
Cr2zCr8zy Posted July 7, 2016 #255 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I see no incentive for them to add more workers to the payroll just so people can go right to their cabins. But I'm sure they might consider it for a nominal increase to our fares. Or they could make your wish come true by simply not starting boarding until the rooms are actually ready at 1:30PM. But hey, you can ask for whatever you want on this thread. It's all about what we would like to see happen. Not that it actually will. I don't see this happening because it would eat into their FTTF revenue. Of all of the benefits for this program, having the cabin ready once onboard is a big one. Although I bet they would still sell just as many and maybe even at or close to the same price as it is now. I know for me it was worth it for the line at GS alone and early debarkation. The priority tender line was also wonderful. Edited July 7, 2016 by firemanbobswife
PatchesJ72 Posted July 7, 2016 #257 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Here is one that is more an annoyance and really couldn't be implemented....if you are relatively physically healthy, you can't take an elevator going down for 3 decks or under....going up, it has to be more than 2 decks....STOP BEING LAZY AND USE THE STAIRS FOR SHORT TRIPS!!!! Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app Well you can't really tell if people are healthy or nor just by looking at them. I have a back injury with severe spinal stenosis. There are times when my left leg goes completely numb and I fall over. It is often sudden and unexpected. I can climb up stairs (because you really can't do much damage that way ), but going down stairs I have to take an elevator just to be safe. My neurosurgeon also told me not to hold hot objects or breakable objects in my left hand.
PatchesJ72 Posted July 7, 2016 #258 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I would change the rule that both people over 21 in the cabin have to purchase cheers. And enforce the chair hog rules. I so agree. My husband always buys the bottomless bubbles because he drinks pop but not alcohol. It would be nice if I could purchase cheers independently. BellaSweet Posted July 7, 2016 #260 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I am 100% with you, because I am very sensitive to the smoke. I can't go into the casino and even being in the hall outside of it is difficult. I would 100% choose a smoke free Carnival cruise ship if I had a choice. I agree! I also would like it if the Cheers program didn't go by room but by person.

I echo the prior suggestion for the spa staff to stop the sales pitches during spa services. Because of that, I don't visit the spa anymore. On some cruises Carnival had 0% single supplement. It was nuts. I booked 2 cabins (a balcony and an inside) cheaper than putting two people in the balcony. With bookings and prices up, it really doesn't make sense for Carnival to offer singles any kind of a deal.
muggo11 Posted July 8, 2016 #263 Share Posted July 8, 2016 I am not a fan of the art auctions and I fear they rip off unsuspecting passengers. If some kind of art program is essential, have work by the artists commissioned to create work for the ships and include artists from ports visited by the ship. If some kind of art program is essential, have work by the artists commissioned to create work for the ships and include artists from ports visited by the ship. The art auctions are a for profit activity offered on some cruise ships. Free champagne is usually served, and other gifts are given away. Nancy and I enjoy attending them. :p As far as unsuspecting passengers go, I would place that more to the category of buyers remorse. The guidelines are clearly stated before the auctions start. If you don't want to buy it, don't bid on it. Yes, there is pressure to buy the art, but as I mentioned earlier the art auctions are a business. We have purchased quite a few pieces and have never felt ripped off. In almost any port city we have visited there is local art for sale which we can and have purchased. I would imagine that if the auctioneer's could make a profit selling local art on board they would commission the artists and auction it off :) To each their own. I have similar issues, amongst other problems stenosis at four levels, I usually ask for a wheelchair to board but then use a stick around the ship or even rely on the hand railing, had one fellow accuse me of faking it to get priority boarding, I seriously thought Mrs Hut was going to throw him overboard. Then you get to the ones with heart problems etc, I just get sick and tired of judgemental people, when people chat me for using a handicapped parking space (which I do as seldom as possible) my response now is "Well when you show me your medical degree I might consider your opinion equal to my Doctor's. I know what you mean. I have rheumatoid arthritis and some days I can't get out of bed while other days I can move much more easily. Because my joints are now enlarging and starting to look abnormal most people believe that I am disabled but I had pain and mobility difficulties for a long time before the visible changes occurred. For the most part people are kind. It is only an occasional a****** who gives any Flack. In all fairness to those people I have myself on occasion wondered when I see a disabled person and their 9 family members all board Southwest Airlines flight without paying the early bird fee because they accompany the disabled person. I actually have difficulty walking to the back of the plane but I pay the early bird fee so that I can board early enough to get a seat near the front. I don't like having to announce I'm disabled to strangers unless I must. The other airlines don't have an early bird check-in allowing people to sit closer to the front so I do have to call them in advance and ask for seating near the front of the economy section. denny514 Posted July 24, 2016 #270 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I know I'll get flamed for this, but I don't give a damn about what people wear. I think they should ban smoking completely. Someone wearing shorts won't kill you or cause cancer. However second hand smoke can. I second that!!!

JinxyB Posted July 24, 2016 #272 Share Posted July 24, 2016 1. Install a mechanism in the balcony doors to prevent them from slamming. 2. Revert back to delivering liquor on last night of the cruise instead of picking it up the morning of disembarkation. 3. Drink coupon should be able to be used at any bar and any time. 4. Install freestyle Coke machines like Royal has. 5. Have a drink card for those of us who don't want to buy Cheers. 6. Have a non-alcoholic drink package like Royal does-soda, coffee, waters, etc.

NHL Philly Fan Posted July 24, 2016 #274 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I still want to see them change how they calculate the fare for each passenger. Make it based on weight. It is the only equitable way to do it. Fat people weigh more and thus cause the ship to use more furl. They eat more and this the food cost is higher. They sweat like a hooker in church so they need need bed linens every day and that increases cost. Plus they are slow and block everyone else on the ship form moving around. In fact there out to be a maximum weight and girth for any given passenger.
