Jiminy1955 Posted July 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2016 We will be sailing on the Equinox in March 2017 from Port Everglades. We are booked in an inside cabin. Where do you suggest the best location is for sail away?
cruisin lady ca Posted July 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2016 We will be sailing on the Equinox in March 2017 from Port Everglades. We are booked in an inside cabin. Where do you suggest the best location is for sail away? We enjoyed sitting at the tables near the sunset bar. Great place for pre-dinner drinks after a day of seeing the sights. Viva_la_Vida Posted July 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2016 I second the Sunset bar :)
Beanb41 Posted July 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2016 We choose the Oceanview bar because of smokers up at the Sunset Bar. The Mast Bar on S ships is also a smokers bar on the starboard side
Rare keesar Posted July 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2016 I would suggest the level overlooking the pool. That way, you would be able to hear the band playing while enjoying a view of leaving port. We sit in the loungers as usually it has been a long day to that point. From Port Everglades, I would be on the Port (left) side.
Rare chemmo Posted July 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2016 If it is a late enough sail away try Tuscan Grill and those wonderful rear views. Bonus of this is you should be able to negotiate a really good price, especially if dining early and you miss the first night chaos of the MDR. If you sail away is too early for Tuscan would agree with the Sunset bar! Love those sail always from Fort Lauderdale! Have a wonderful cruise! jelayne Posted July 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Skye Lounge on deck 14 and tables outside at the Oceanview cafe are also good spots.

4774Papa Posted July 11, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Sunset Bar is great for most sail aways. However, if you are sailing out of a really majestic place like Venice, Sydney or NYC, you might enjoy the outside deck above the pool deck so you can see the whole city well from one spot. Rare chemmo Posted July 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2016 (edited) What would you suggest as a good time to book this for? Honestly, we almost always book the opening slot 6pm? We do this on whatever sailing we do now and request a window seat. We have done this world wide which has been from dark to late afternoon light....They will not usually guarantee you a window seat unless you book the early slot. It works best when you sail at about 5/5.30 pm and either dress and then go on deck or dress and then sail away from the balcony and then go up for your meal. A genuinely really great way to start a cruise. Hope you have a wonderful cruise Jimini 1955! Edited July 11, 2016 by chemmo
