hapster85 Posted August 4, 2016 #26 Share Posted August 4, 2016 We enjoyed our meal there aboard Anthem, but not sure it was worth the extra $30. It was good, but so is the food in the complimentary restaurants. Maybe i would've felt different eating there for lunch, as it's cheaper then. QE2_Fan Posted August 4, 2016 #27 Share Posted August 4, 2016 We've eaten at Jamie's on land in Singapore and Sydney and love his fresh no fuss take on Italian food. The appetiser 'planks' are lovely and worth dining there alone! I'm looking forward to trying his restaurant aboard Ovation in February as am interested if the fresh pasta and produce will be of as a high standard as ashore. pattak619 Posted August 4, 2016 #28 Share Posted August 4, 2016 We will be trying Jamie's in Jan.14th sailing, but I do miss Portofino's,:( this was always my favorite restaurant.

39august Posted August 4, 2016 Author #31 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Thanks to all. I think we'll pass. We will have CK access for the first time, so just won't do a specialty on our HOTS cruise.
Lveh8lve Posted August 4, 2016 #32 Share Posted August 4, 2016 We were on the anthem in december and had a similar experience there were 4 of us we all ordered different dishes and were disappointed. But thought it might have been just an off night so we tried again with different dishes and did not really like anything but the plank and a couple of the desserts. I do have to say the service was outstanding. We all felt everything was just under seasoned. I was on in December and the food as a whole was barely edible. Jamie's was definitely the best of the worst. I've heard things have gotten better recently though.
Yorkvillain Posted August 4, 2016 #33 Share Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Portofino was my favorite also. Oh that seafood skewer............ Yes! I liked to go twice on the Explorer - once for a steak and once for the seafood skewer. Edited August 4, 2016 by Yorkvillain
Cruisin' Again 86 Posted August 4, 2016 #34 Share Posted August 4, 2016 All of this talk.... Does anyone have menus ?
FirstCruise2331 Posted August 5, 2016 #35 Share Posted August 5, 2016 Eat in Jamie's on Ovation. Food was very tasty but in my view not worth charge. We only went there as we wanted to do Chops and Wonderland so made sense to do the 3 dining package.

loubetti Posted August 5, 2016 #37 Share Posted August 5, 2016 Yes, I also fondly remember the Spiedino.:) What? No Spiedino?!!! One of my favorites, and getting harder to find even on land! I have not had it in years. I guess no stuffed veal chop Valdostana either. Well, one of those is an easy $35 on its own! Thanks for reminding me, Bob. libertybelle41 Posted August 5, 2016 #39 Share Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) We thought Jamie's (on Anthem)was just ok, if it was a fee free restaurant we might try it again, since it's a fee venue we probably won't go back.
