I am Curious

Recommended Posts

Heard of all of them. Been to all of them. Lived in some of them.

Would be more logical to name lesser known locations like Kellerberrin or Wyalkatchem or Wongan Hills or Paraburdoo if you really wanted to test folks !

:) Thank you, but I wasn't after testing folks, just trying to settle a minor dispute between inhabitants of two of those named

Thanks to everyone who responded; it came out a dead heat! :D So they really have no need to dispute the point.

One of the things I love about modern technology is the ease of looking up places that you have never heard of before. In many cases you can even "walk" down the streets with Google Street View. Fascinating!

We have not visited Western Australia yet.

Heard of all the destinations

It will happen when we have finished our overseas travels

Thank you, and do enjoy WA when you get here.

Dispute sorted more or less ... no one place that much better known than another.

:)

very familiar with them all. Have been to Margaret River region.

IMO Margaret River (probably due to wine region and the surf spot) and Broome are better known than Busselton and Geraldton.

Live on the east coast but have been to all those places multiple times. We particularly love Busselton and its location on beautiful Geographe Bay. And Albany Harbour rivals anything on the Eastern seaboard.

I have been to Geraldton and Broome :).

I have heard (or more like seen from the ships bring webcams) Albany.

I have not head very much about Busselton.

and we will be going to Margaret River on our next cruise :).

If you are going to Margaret River you will tender to Busselton then bus to MR.

I've also posted this in the Australian and NZ ports of call, but would like more responses.

I am curious ... which of these places have people heard of?

Albany Have heard of it.

Geraldton Yes have been there, my bestie and her hubby live there. Going again in September.

Busselton Have heard of it, but never been. My bestie's parents live there.

Margaret River Have heard of it. Wine region?

and

Broome Have heard of it. Indiginous Australians area?

?

I would love lots of responses. You don't need to KNOW about the places, just have heard (or read) about them.

Many thanks to all who respond.

You know the indigenous population lives everywhere right ?

Broome is high up the list for the caravanning grey nomads. Famous for its pearls and pristine beaches. Also prehistoric dinosaur footprints.

People of all nationalities live there.

And the Japanese Cemetery that honours the early Kimberley pearl divers many of whom died very young and a long way from home. Ted Egan wrote Sayonara Nakamura about a diver from Okinawa.

Love all, maybe the lobsters 'save' Geraldton, but all the rest are top notch...would go back to all in a heart.

Same here. We love WA. The scenery is stunning every which way you turn. Speaking of pearls Geraldton has the beautiful black pearls from the Abrolhos Islands.....

Been to all except Geraldton.

Albany - pleasant town that reminds me of Eden, NSW

Busselton - another nice town and with a huge jetty

Margaret River - not so much a place as a marketing strategy

Broome - Nyngan with a beach
