robtulipe Posted August 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) We have been to St. Kitts many, many times and there will be plenty of tour operators and van taxi drivers waiting at exit area of the pier gate in Port Zante that will be offering tours of the island. They will put together a group with the interested exiting passengers or you could do so before hand with the roll call for your cruise at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2255216 You could also check the Caribbean port of call forum for St. Kitts and Nevis at the link below. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=428 Also check out this link. https://www.viator.com/St-Kitts-attractions/Port-Zante/d930-a3760 Edited August 14, 2016 by robtulipe
Squirty27 Posted August 14, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Thank you. I went to that forum. I remember someone writing about a tour that went to the -Amazing Grace Museum and I can't find it now. We don't care for a beach stop and it needs to be a vehicle with air conditions . tinkr2 Posted August 14, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Book private tour with Thenford Grey. His van are air conditioned. He meets you at the pier and is very conscientious and amazing. We have used him twice. He is great.

sgregel Posted August 14, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 14, 2016 We are taking Thenford Grey's Grand Island Tour on our cruise in November. There is a beach stop at the end, but they are taking us back to the ship at that point per our request. They will also drop you off for shopping. It looks like a great value for the money and they have gotten excellent review on TripAdvisor and Cruise Critic. Sandy

katjoeus Posted August 14, 2016 #13 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Following. We'll be in St. Kitts on September 12 and I also don't want to book through RC; Ideally, we'd like some sightseeing and then some beach. Don't care about shopping - I guess it'll be a pain to fend off all the peddlers....
existentialtraveler Posted August 14, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Not planning on booking an excursion through the ship. Can anyone recommend a "walk off" tour group that might be waiting at the dock? Thank you. We used ISLAND PARADISE TOURS. We had a bus/van just for our group. It was one of if not the best tour we have ever taken. After emailing them our preferences, they designed a tour just for us. http://www.stkittsislandparadisetours.com/index.php/tours/

mizzoucruiser Posted August 14, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 14, 2016 I also recommend Thenford Grey. He will put together a package tour for you based on what you want to see and do. Very accommodating. We wanted to tour the Carib brewery along with all the must sees and a stop at the beach with Reggae Beach Bar. Got in all in with time to spare. Sky616 Posted August 15, 2016 #17 Share Posted August 15, 2016 I recommend Royston tours. We did a tour with him in April and can't say enough good things about him.
bellydance 68 Posted August 15, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 15, 2016 We used Thenford Grey a couple of years back. One of our party was a wheelchair user and they were fantastic with him. Tour round the Island was great. We were the only ones in our party who wanted to go to the beach, we were dropped off and picked up at an agreed time. Would definitely recommend them. Squirty27 Posted August 16, 2016 Author #19 Share Posted August 16, 2016 There are about 4 places I'd like to visit and at this point I don't know who in our group wants to join in. Can we get off the ship and find a taxi service/tour van to take us to those destinations without having to set something up ahead of time? We are on the Oasis this Saturday. Thank you. paul58 Posted August 16, 2016 #20 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) You should be able to find an operator that will customize a tour to suit your needs. You will be the only ship in port the 24th. Edited August 16, 2016 by paul58

But with a simple email, you can arrange a custom tour and have no risk. No deposit and a reputable safe driver. Why risk it ?
