JulesJ1 Posted August 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Has anyone ever done the 7 day cruise to Bermuda where you get to stay overnight 3 nights? Just wondering what it was like, appropriate with children, etc?
Rare 1025cruise Posted August 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2016 I've done it. Treat the ship like a hotel while you are there.
6rugrats Posted August 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Many people take such a cruise. Suggest if you have a specific question, try asking it in that cruise line's forum, or go to the ports of call forum here for Bermuda.
leaveitallbehind Posted August 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Done it several times and it is one of our favorites. Like having all the time there with your ship as your hotel. Can come and go 24 hours a day when in port and Bermuda is a very nice and safe island with plenty to see and do. All of which can be easily done on your own. Not sure with what context you mean appropriate with children, but it certainly is IMO. Edited August 15, 2016 by leaveitallbehind
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2016 We have done a few cruises to Bermuda -- on smaller ships where we actually docked on Front Street. We were able to get off and on the ship as we pleased and walk around.
welikepalms Posted August 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2016 We have cruised to Bermuda 3 times. Our favorite by far is the one we docked for 3 days and nights. This was our first cruise and we did 3 ports in Bermuda. Can't do that now on the big ships, Like a previous poster said use your ship like a floating hotel. You get on and off as you please and do as little or as much as you want. You will get more insight and information going to the Bermuda Port Boards. Its a beautiful island with lots to do. Enjoy Good luck and happy cruising.
Sequim88 Posted August 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Kind of surreal hanging out at the Frog & Onion until 1am and re-boarding the ship (at Navy Dockyard). Only had one night and most of next day on way across Atlantic but enjoyed Bermuda a lot. Edited August 15, 2016 by Sequim88
fishywood Posted August 15, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Plenty of family-friendly things to do in Bermuda to take the kids on a multi-day call there. But like any tourist town there will be adult stuff going on past their bedtime. In 2014 RCI did three salings from Florida with the overnight in Bermuda, arriving Friday at dinnertime and departing Sunday afternoon. On the one I took in September, even though the passengers were much older than the normal RCI crowd there were still people staggering back to the ship sloshed to the gills late at night. Shih-tzu Posted August 15, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2016 I did the HAL Veendam cruise where we spent 3 nights in Bermuda (from Monday noonish to Thursday noon. ). That ship is small enough to get right into the dock on Front Street in Hamilton which puts you only a couple of blocks from the central bus station and the ferry. You can get a transit pass for 2 or 3 days (forget which) for unlimited use of buses and ferries. We preferred it as its more central to the island (as opposed to King's Wharf which is at one end.) There were a few kids on the ship when we went but that was early May. I notice they have more sailings in 2017. I would think they would enjoy the Aquarium in Flatts, the Crystal Caves and the beaches. Enjoy your trip.
S&S Cruisers 1983 Posted August 15, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Most relaxing cruise we have ever done. Loved Bermuda. Have done it twice and will be doing it again. Very safe and fun.
