Planning future cruise to book onboard - Allure or repeat Oasis

We would like to book a future cruise while onboard the Oasis....probably another Oasis cruise or the Allure.

Other than price, ports, and the fact that we would have already cruised on Oasis, what are the pro's of booking Allure instead of the Oasis?

One other thing....if we decided to book a Celebrity cruise instead, could we change this to an RCL or another Celebrity cruise later on? What would we lose if we did so?

Thanks so much for all your help.

Starting this fall they both will sail Sunday to Sunday. Oasis from Port Canaveral and Allure from FLL.

I hadn't bothered to check that Oasis switched to Sunday. I assume that she will continue to do Eastern when the other does Western. That might create an interesting situation come hurricane season if one has to divert. I can see Royal putting both ships in Labadee or Fallmouth, if that is possible.

Yes, from what I can see she is still doing the opposite itinerary of the Allure. Same itinerary as Harmony which is sailing on the Saturday but they are a day behind her for all the stops.

Actually the itineraries for 2017 are not the same for Eastern. Allure does Nassau and St Thomas while Oasis goes to Labadee and San Juan. Also Allure goes to St Kitts instead of St Martin every now and then.

Harmony mirrors the Oasis itineraries.

I was only referring to the Eastern / Western aspect of the itineraries not the actual ports.

The actual ports do seem to bounce around a bit though throughout the year. Noticed Oasis starts off the year doing Nassau and St. Thomas then switches to the San Juan itinerary. At least there are some choices for the itineraries now though.

I'm glad you mentioned that. Having done the eastern itinerary twice on Allure and once on Oasis I would consider one of those alternate itineraries in the future. Since I'm booked through 2018 I haven't investigated it further.

I could conceivably take one of several choices when our 40th anniversary comes around in 2021 :) Meanwhile, it will be fun to watch to see if two Oasis class ever end up in the same port even for an unplanned reason.

With some effort, I enjoyed it too, but you would have to pay me $100 to sit through it again.

It keeps me out of the casino. :D

The secret is to sit near the front and on the aisle. The cats interact with you.

I made it through 15 minutes of CATS. I was proud of myself. I'd go on Allure simply for the different shows.

The lack of a real bar in Opal is unfortunate.

If you happen to see my review from last May, I mentioned we were in the 5th row and I mentioned that I got cramps in my face suppressing yawns, I didn't want to hurt their feelings.

You can't change a Celebrity booking to a RCL one. You can change a Celebrity booking to another Celebrity booking.

Not sure what you mean on losing something if you did.

I enjoyed CATS

I would really like to know why people liked or did not like CATS. My husband and I saw part of it on our last Oasis cruise. We snuck out with half the audience at intermission.

I wanted to like it. I blame it on, sitting too far from the stage (husband has knee trouble) so you could not appreciated the details of the performances. Plot was a bit heavy for a cruise.... you want light happy...; the music was, for the most part, not particularly memorable (pun not intended). The cast was great, voices great, dancing great.... I just did not like it...

Those who liked it... did you sit close to the stage?
