Whats the one thing or several things you must bring from home that carnival doesnt have or its not good enough for you? (Pillow, creamers, salsa, etc).

 

Just curious, might give me or others some "a ha" ideas.......

Shampoo. I can't use shampoo that has conditioner in it because it leaves my hair greasy. So I bring my own shampoo.

I bring my own soap and shampoo. After a few days of using Carnival's products, my skin and hair dries out so I bring my own.

I bring my own shampoo and soap but I do that wherever we go, not just on a cruise. I just fill the little travel containers and bring them, not full size products.

 

I don't bring any food, there's plenty there, although the kids mentioned bringing mini marshmallows for the hot chocolate you can get on the lido deck. I don't know if there is a place we could buy a bag on board or not, I never thought about it before.

 

There's really nothing special I can think of that we bring to cruise that we don't bring to a land vacation. Other than cheap towels. I know others use Carnival towels but they are so heavy and bulky, I'm not lugging those things around, we bring the cheap $4 towels from Wal-Mart. I can fit all of them in a beach bag and if they get too wet or dirty we can just toss them at the beach or if they get lost it's no big deal. They don't take up any extra room in the luggage, I just stick them in with the soda.

I will gladly take the scorn and first world problem comments I deserve for this. I take Starbucks Vias. I also drink plenty of cruise ship coffee, but I like a strong cup of coffee.

I bring my neck pillow and use it on both the plane and cruise. Also flavored creamer for the not so good coffee.

Last cruise we shared a table with a man that brought dried jalapeños from home and ate some with every meal. Must have jalapeño.....lol.

Diet Mountain Dew. I've only seen Coke products on my cruises.

We are very low maintenance. Clothes, toiletries, camera, e-reader and snorkel gear. Anything else is taking up space in already tight quarters.

My wife has to bring her own shampoo and conditioner since she dyes her hair and regular stuff causes the dye to fade more quickly. I bring my own canned soda, not because I want a special type of soda but I want to save money. Other than that, nothing.

My own soda. I bring my Tuva and if I can find some Irish creamer . My own shampoo and conditioner, full size, I use a lot of conditioner.

 

Cars, certain games, and I like my over the shoe holder, which I need to find it fire resistant.

Since first world residents tend to be cruise ship passengers, when you choose to come to Cruise Critic, expect to read about a lot of first world problems. :D

Definitely soap and shampoo. And two travel alarm clocks. Also a highlighter for the daily newsletter, a small pair of scissors and a few magnets for the wall!

My iPhone and charger. I use the kindle app to read books and the geocaching app to cache. We buy a data plan to download emails and find caching hints if necessary.

Shampoo/conditioner/body wash in small travel bottles and tea tools for making my own teas/Yerba mate, admit to being fine tea addict, rarely drink alcohol. Clothing, camera and that's about it, everything else I need is provided or I can find it in one of the ports.

Things I must have on my cruises are:

• Shampoo and conditioner
  
• shower gel
  
• Power strip
  
• Shoe organiser (to store all our toiletries in the bathroom)
