Should I do a thread posting live on the Epic?

Hi! I'm going to be on the repositioning of the Epic starting out of Barcelona on October 30th for 13 days. I'm going solo but am outgoing and love to meet all sorts of people and try just about everything. Since I'll be staying in the Haven spa suite by myself I got the Internet included. Before I just go ahead and do it I thought I'd test the waters and see if anyone would like to read something like that?

This will be my seventh NCL cruise but first on Epic and first TA.

Any thoughts?

You got a few hours of internet free. Probably not enough for 13 days of blogging.

Actually I got probably double what you're assuming and I have a great data deal through my company. If I'm willing to pay for it, don't worry about it. Although I do thank you for your response

Me too - I wont get to read it until we return from our TA - but my dear friends are on your cruise and I would love to read all about the EPIC adventure!

We have done the EPIC TA before - loved loved loved it!

And the SPA - OMG - we have been in Aquaclass on Celebrity on our last two cruises and Celebritys spa is not a remote touch on EPIC!

Have a great time!

I have reported live from my last few cruises.

I honestly don't know whether it is worth doing or not, and I probably won't bother in future.

I do it as I get the unlimited wifi anyway, and it is quite easy to update it when relaxing on the balcony or something. I tend to find that it doesn't have much impact on the cruise.

However, whilst I'm sure that some people do get some benefit out of it, it is always a little depressing to see how little interest there seems to be, especially compared to some other subjects, which get endlessly discussed on these boards.

As to whether you should do it, I say give it a go, but only as long as you are enjoying it. It can be quite enjoyable.

Actually, I'm probably being a little unfair. I do believe that the majority of people are here to learn or to help others, and those people will appreciate a live report.

I would be interested as I loved the Epic and enjoy reading other people's reviews :) But I do find that Live threads start with great intentions but then get abandoned once the internet gets too slow or the poster gets distracted! So in some ways a post-cruise review works better. Whichever type of review it is, I like to see pictures- especially food porn! yum.

I love live reports and try to contribute live if I have unlimited internet. I seem to be able to catch subtle details I'd miss if I waited to get home. For me, it becomes like a cruise journal that is fun she read later as it brings back memories of the moment.

Keith Jenner I love your live reports as you are always in extremely helpful contributor. Much appreciated :-)

I will eagerly await your live review also squish :-). I board the epic for a holiday cruise and I'm always looking for recent information. Have fun, travel safe , and happy sales!

I'd be very interested in reading it. There seems to be fewer and fewer reviews off the Epic lately, and mostly from first time cruisers. I'm sailing on her in March and would appreciate a seasoned cruisers opinion

I'll be doing a LIVE FROM blog from the Transatlantic on Epic, but mine is usually more about the crazy things going on day to day and I don't do the shows, I spend a lot of time in the casino.

It would be great to have two from different perspectives, even though we're both traveling alone, in the Haven and are from Ontario ;)

I say I'm alone (left the husband at home and kids are in school), but I'm traveling with people that do the same transatlantics every year, so we all know each other. Most of the group are amazing gay men and tare a lot of them are staying in the Haven. It's been dubbed the Gayven for this cruise :) They are very sweet, kind and funny.

A few of my LIVE FROM threads are in my signature.

I'm sure I'll meet you in Posh, please introduce yourself, I'm 6'2, blonde and my name is Sally.

I agree, that there's not always a lot of feedback, but I love doing them as a journal to remember the trip, especially when traveling alone you don't have someone there to remind you of funny things that have happened.

Sally,

I have ready most of your reviews (blogs) and yours are one of the main reasons that I am taking the same cruise on 10/30. I also spend a lot of time in the casino but as yet stick mostly with video poker.

Do you and the group you travel with not join the roll call? I have looked for your signature.

Anyway, I hope to meet you on the cruise. No suite for me this time, though. Actually, I retired in November and this is the first time I have been able to get away long enough for a cruise of this length. I was travelling with a friend but in separate cabins but she had to cancel.

See you in the casino!

Marsha, you are so sweet! We'll definitely meet! I'm a UTH, 3 Card and Let It Ride girl. I've stopped signing up for the meet and greets as I'm usually sleeping in late the first day and forget them, so don't want to put my name down and not show up. The first night I always seem to over-indulge and stay late in the casino ;)

I will definitely read it! But honestly, it does not matter to me whether it is live or is a post cruise review. I would hate for you to take time away from your cruise if you don't want to. But if you want to, then I say....go for it! I'll be "along for the ride" reading along. I think a solo cruiser in a spa suite on a TA will be a perspective that will be very interesting!
