takeavacation Posted October 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2016 Looks like we'll have many many hours to spend in San Juan after disembarking the ship. Is there anywhere to store luggage? Does the Luggage Valet operate in San Juan? We're flying JetBlue. Thanks!
39august Posted October 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2016 No luggage valet. Try the Puerto Rico boards for the name of a restaurant that will store your luggage for you. Sorry I don't recall the name,.
mjgep0316 Posted October 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2016 Do the half day excursion through RCI that tours old and new San Juan. I think it's only $35 and includes a stop for lunch. They take your bags and drop you at the airport around Noon. We had a 2PM flight and it worked great for us Sent from my SM-G920V using Forums mobile app

I did a similar shore excursion in Seattle last weekend and it worked out great. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Pumbaamd Posted October 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) We spent the day at the Marriott on the beach prior to our evening flight. Call ahead and get their details and make a ressie. We had a changing room to get in and out of our swim suits for pool and/or beach activities. An in-pool bar, with lunch available at the bar. There is also a restaurant inside and casino, with betting on horses. Cabs are easily available for the airport short run. Shopping nearby. Just a fun afternoon to extend your vacation! njkruzer Posted October 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 16, 2016 Last time we went Barachina's where they check luggage for free. No requirement to eat there but we did have lunch there before heading to the airport. Don't recall any problem getting a cab though I seem to remember saying there is a taxi stand on the corner. There is/was a free trolley that circled old San Juan, making various stops. You should be able to find the route online. Enjoy.

I stumbled across a Barachina's handbill/flyer at guest service the day before we disembarked. The flyer read $5 / bag. So that's where we headed to. When we arrived, we were told it was no fee but 'tips only' . We left them there all day and left them $3/bag when we picked them up.
crookedhalo Posted October 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 16, 2016 We had a similar situation - try looking up GoPuertoRico shuttle. They offer tours of the rain forest etc. that will fill the day, and as you are in their van, you luggage will be secure in the back for the entire trip:)
Ocean Boy Posted October 16, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 16, 2016 We have used the restaurant Barrachina several times to store luggage. It is very conveniently located and the food there is good too if you want some place to eat. Any Taxi driver will recognize the name. The address is 104 Calle Fortaleza. http://www.barrachina.com/
katiel53 Posted October 16, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 16, 2016 We sailed from San Juan many times and when we got off the ship there were many taxi types offering tours for those with later flights. We kept our luggage with us and were dropped off at the airport. I enjoyed the tours and most stopped somewhere for us to have lunch on our own dime, but the tours were pretty much near the Old San Juan area as well as out a ways. It was considerably cheaper than using a Carnival tour. We haven't done this in the last few years, but if we were debarking in San Juan, rather than embarking there, I would look for the same thing again.
